WHITMAN, RAAB AMONG OUTAGAMIE WINNERS JULY 24

The first feature event of the evening took place after the Sport Mod heat races.  The Arneson Well Drilling IMCA Modified make up feature kicked off with Trevor Spaulding leading the opening lap.  An early caution slowed the pace with two laps in the books with Spaulding leading Skyler Woods, Johnny “The Hitman” Whitman, Ivar Malmquist, and Jayden Schmidt back to green.  Whitman took advantage of the restart to go to the outside and grabbed the lead.  There was no looking back as Whitman led the rest of the way to lock up the win.  Schmidt was 2nd, Woods 3rd, Spaulding 4th, and Dan Roedl completed the top 5.

The second Arneson Well Drilling IMCA Modified feature saw Wyatt Block grab the lead at the drop of the green.  Block still held the point at the halfway mark with Zachary Raab in 2nd, Flyin’ Brian Mullen 3rd, “The Hitman” Johnny Whitman 4th, and Marcus Yarie 5th. The bottom line looked to be the preferred groove but Raab was forced to the top side and found enough momentum to pass for the lead on lap 15.  Raab held on for the final circuits and secured the win.  Block was 2nd, Whitman 3rd, Mullen 4th, and Jayden Schmidt closed out the top 5.

The Monroe Truck Equipment IMCA Stock cars were back in action after being off last week.  Their A main event had Matt Warner shoot to the lead from his outside front row starting spot.  Warner’s time at the front didn’t last long as Brandon Czarapata powered by on the outside to the top spot on the second lap.  A lap 4 caution bunched the field as Czarapata held court over Warner, Mike Klenz, Travis Van Straten, and Tyler Schrimpf.  Schrimpf found some speed after the ensuing restart and was able to move into the lead on lap 8 but Czarapata swept back by on the outside the very next circuit.  Czarapata survived two more restarts and snagged the win, Schrimpf settled for a hard fought 2nd, Brett Wenzel 3rd, Chase Parker 4th, and Warner completed the top 5.

Skyelin Krohlow utilized the pole position to grab the early lead of the Trailer Express IMCA Northern Sport Mod feature event.  A quick caution with 2 laps complete reracked the deck and saw Krohlow hold the advantage over Jordan Gracyalny, Dylan Schmidt, Carsin Cullen, and Ryan Besaw.  Lap 4 produced the move of the race when JJ Vanderloop dove inside Schmidt and Krohlow to go from 3rd to 1st in one lap.  Vanderloop fought off the pack to book a ticket to victory lane.  Ryan Schmidt was 2nd, Dylan Schmidt 3rd, Cullen 4th, and Mitchell Fairbank 5th.

The Vetting Customs Rigs and Rides Unified Dirt Street Stock feature had pole sitter, Colten Klueckman, lead the opening lap.  “The Dominator” Paul Diefenthaler wasted no time marching to the front as he worked by the outside of Jason Piron to grab 3rd on lap 3 and then picked off Cory Lemirande for 2nd the following lap.  By lap 6 Diefenthaler flew by Klueckman on the high side to take the lead.  Diefenthaler held off a late charge from Trey Van Straten to celebrate the win.  Van Straten settled for 2nd, Klueckman 3rd, Jacob Ambrosius 4th, and Roman Blank rounded out the top 5.

Trevor Vandehei captured the early lead in the Midwest Equipment Dock and Lift Services IMCA Sport Compact feature but surrendered the top spot to Logan Boehnlein on lap 3.  Cody Booth slipped into the lead on lap 4 as the action was fast and furious.  A lap 5 caution slowed the hectic pace as Booth led Boehnlein, Jesse Schulte, Brett Deprez, and Vandehei.  Schulte used the restart to grab 2nd and eventually wrestle the lead away from Booth.  Booth recaptured the top spot by the halfway mark.  The pair traded the lead back and forth until the final lap when it seemed Booth had the preferred line on the inside headed into turn 3, a slight bobble in the middle of turn 4 by Booth allowed Schulte just enough momentum to grab the victory.  Booth was 2nd, Brian Hillringhouse 3rd, Deprez 4th, and Dan Thompson 5th.

The MCS Vintage Modified feature event saw Dale Herring grab the opening lap lead, Darrin Allard was able to race his classic iron stallion into the top spot before giving it up to Butchie “Little Stinker” Hafemann.  While Hafemann set the pace Darrin Allard and Jeremy Allard swapped the 2nd spot back and forth.  As the checkers flew Hafemann was the winner, Darrin Allard 2nd, Jeremy Allard 3rd, Herring 4th, and Brian “The Butcher” Titel was 5th.

Outagamie Speedway powered by Klink Equipment and Holtger Brothers Inc is back in action Friday, July 31st as the Midwest Equipment Dock and Lift Service IMCA Sport Compact division will battle for a $500 top prize.  Racing kicks off at 6:30.
