WALDVOGEL FENDS OFF YARIE, COP EAGLE RIVER IMCA MOD FAST SHAFT FEATURE
(EAGLE RIVER, WI) JULY 21 – Antigo’s Dylon Waldvogel grabbed the lead from his pole position, and fought off a fast-closing Marcus Yarie in the waning laps to capture the IMCA modified Fast Shaft qualifying race at Eagle River Speedway Tuesday.
Waldvogel was able to muster up a three car length lead over Yarie at the drop of the green of the 20-lap contest. Waldvogel’s margin was wiped out from a Gary Janke spin in turn four on the third circuit.
When racing resumed, Shawano’s Jordan Bartz pulled alongside of Yarie, giving him a run for the runnerup spot. However, Bartz’ night came to an end on lap seven, when the driveshaft from her car came out, drawing an amber.
On the restart, Yarie was glued to Waldvogel’s rear bumper. The lead duo pulled away from the pack to settle the score. Waldvogel kept Yarie at bay long enough to pick up the $1,000 win. Yarie took second place, followed by Marion’s Adam Abbey,Horicon’s Justin Pearson and hometown driver Jason Zdroik.
Stockholm’s Lucas Peterson dodged a handful of caution periods and late race pressure from Tomahawk’s Zack Friske to capture the USRA late model feature. The win was third of the season here for the defending track champion.

Parity has been a key component in the B mod division this season here, and tonight’s action proved to be no exception. Polesitter Michael Truscott from Chippewa Falls fought off fellow veteran racer George Dalbeck of Wausau to score the division’s feature win. With his victory, Truscott became the sixth different winner in seven weeks of racing here.
Dalbeck settled for second at the pay window. Crossing the line third through fifth were Ryan Brown, Dustin White, and defending track champion Dave Dishaw. White remains the only driver in the division so far in 2026 to double up on feature wins in the B modifieds.
The IMCA stock car main event was marred with a flurry of cautions, aborted restart attempts and overall general mayhem. It was former track champion “Hot Rod” Snellenberger of Pulaski who wound up winning his third feature flag here of the season. White finished in second. Keslie Richards, Eddie “Eagle” Anschutz and Jason Zroik placed third through fifth, respectively.
Rhinelander’s Jeremy Joslin won the street stock feature.

Wausau’s Bentley Seliger led wire-to-wire, picking up his second, 300 micro sprint feature win of the season. The contest went green-to-checkered without a yellow.
The first race of the night, a 300 micro sprint heat, was red flagged when Eagle River’s Graham Van Atta collided with another car, slid into the infield and was launched airborne, rolling his mount. Van Atta escaped unhurt, and returned to compete in the division’s feature where he placed ninth.
Racing resumes Tuesday, July 28. The annual kid’s coin and candy toss will take place. Racing starts at 7:00 p.m. For more information check out the track’s Facebook page.
