EIGHT EPISODE PODCAST SERIES ON LEGENDARY TRACK ANNOUNCER/HISTORIAN TOM WAGNER TO DEBUT JULY 11 AT JOEVERDEGAN.COM

(Wagner was “the voice” of Sturgeon Bay, Luxemburg ovals for decades)

(Dunbar, WI) – Longtime Door County racetrack announcer and Sturgeon Bay racing track historian Tom Wagner be featured in a series of podcasts at joeverdegan.com beginning July 11.

Wagner, who currently serves as the “unofficial” track historian for motorsports activities over the decades at John Miles Park in Sturgeon Bay, has had a decades-long career as a racetrack announcer which began Labor Day weekend at Sturgeon Bay in 1977 when he was just 21 years old. Wagner had big shoes to fill – taking over the reins from legendary Fritz Van.

From that year on, Wagner was a fixture at both the Door County oval and worked behind the mic for many years at Luxemburg, including a longtime stint in the ‘90’s working for Kelly and Debbie Hafeman and R.W. Aschenbrenner when the track was known as Luxemburg Tri-Star Speedway.

In the podcast series, Wagner recalled both the highs and lows of stock car racing in both Door and Kewaunee Counties. Wagner continues to “pinch hit” for many other racetracks and series over the years and continues to do so yet in 2022. Wagner has also worn many hats in the snowmobile racing industry and details some funny tales along the way with that as well.

Wagner is a member of the Hall of Fame at both The ‘Burg Speedway in Luxemburg and his home track The Hill Raceway’s HOF in Sturgeon Bay.

The podcasts can be obtained through Spotify or wherever you obtain you audio podcasts. The series will run for eight weeks with each episode being released every Monday morning weekly beginning July 11. The podcast series featuring Tom Wagner is presented courtesy of Muenster Service Center in Green Bay.
