This Saturday, June 27 The Hill Raceway in Sturgeon Bay will induct three new drivers into their 2026 Hall of Fame class. And one of those inductees is still at it behind the wheel.

Hometown driver Bernie Reinhardt is one of three inductees. Reinhardt has not missed a single race since the track reopened in 1993. Reinhardt’s current streak sits at 439 consecutive nights of racing at the third-mile, clay oval at John Miles Park. Reinhardt still competes in the sportmod division.

Other inductees include former street stock champion Von Eytcheson of Forestville, and Algoma’s Wayne “Big Daddy” Grosbier. Grosbier was a cigar chomping, diehard Ford racer. Eytcheson was a two-time street stock champ, who garnered 28 feature wins in two classes. 22 of those victories came in the street stock division.

The action at The Hill Raceway is set to get underway at 6 p.m.

OUTAGAMIE DIRT KINGS – The Dirt Kings late model tour returns to Outagamie Speedway this Friday, June 26. A full program is on tap at the third-mile, clay oval. The race will be part of the Outagamie County Fair. The action at the Outagamie County Fairgrounds gets underway at 6 p.m.

141 WORLD OF OUTLAW LEFTOVERS – A tip of the cap goes out to the staff at 141 Speedway. Officials at the Francis Creek oval fought through persistent showers Saturday night with the World of Outlaw late models in attendance for the first time.

The show truly had a carnival-like atmosphere, with rabid dirt track racing fans snatching up merchandise from their favorite dirt late model racers. The show drew 33 late models, which honestly is a few more than I guessed they would get. There was some pretty solid local support, too, with quite a few drivers trying their hand, racing against drivers who do this for a living.

A shout out is in order to Greenville’s Joel Bennett. Bennett fared the best of the local racers, placing 15th in the 60 lap feature. Bonduel’s Nick Anvelink finished 16th. Two other locals made the big show – New London’s Terry Casey placed 24th and Shawano’s Brett Swedberg took 25th.

I had the privilege of being on the mic for the support classes – IMCA northern sportmod and stock car divisions. I’ve worked with a multiple touring series over the years. I can say the folks with the WoO ran a pretty tight ship. They worked well with the existing 141 track staff. I don’t know if the show was a success or not from a financial standpoint, but the entire atmosphere during the two-day show was nothing short of electric. That, despite the weather, as much of the show on Friday was washed out by Mother Nature.

This Saturday night at 141, the track will host Arneson Well Drilling night. The action gets underway at 6 p.m.

EAGLE RIVER SPEEDWAY IMCA MOD FAST SHAFT QUALIFIER – Eagle River Speedway will host IMCA modifieds on Tuesday, June 30 for a $1,000-to-win contest. The race, which will feature a draw/redraw format, will serve as an official Fast Shaft qualifying race for the IMCA Supernationals at Boone, Iowa in September. A second IMCA mod Fast Shaft race will take place at the northwoods oval on Tuesday, July 21.This coming Tuesday, June 23 the track will host it’s annual bicycle giveaway night. The action gets underway at 7 p.m.

SHAWANO SPEEDWAY – The Scott Weisnicht Memorial race will take place this Saturday, June 27 at Shawano Speedway. The half-mile, clay oval will also host an exhibition and a tribute to the local kart racers. Action gets underway at 6 p.m.

LUXY RACEWAY – Racing returns to Luxy Raceway in Luxemburg this Friday, June 26. Racing is slated for 7 p.m. at the Kewaunee County Fairgrounds.

GRAVITY PARK USA – After juggling their program last Friday because of inclement weather, and running just the feature races for most divisions, Gravity Park USA in Chilton will try once again to get their full, racing program in this Friday, June 26. Action gets underway at 7 p.m.

KARTING KORNER – Kart and lawn mower racing returns to GSR Kartway in Clintonville this Wednesday, June 24. GSR alum and 2024 NASCAR Craftsman truck series champion Ty Majeski will make an appearance. Action at the eighth-mile, clay oval is set to commence at 7 p.m. Last week’s show was rained out.

It was New London, North Carolina’s Carson Brown who bested the other 14 contestants in the Badger 325 ASA National Tour race at Slinger Super Speedway Sunday night. Seymour native and former NASCAR truck series champion Ty Majeski took second. Stratford native Derek Kraus took 4th, Gleason’s Justin Mondeik finished 7th and Merrill’s Levon Van Der Geest finished 15th.
