THE HERO PROGRAM
GSR Kartway and Little Buckaroo Jr Motorsports Park operated by Little Buckaroo Karting, in partnership with Shawano Speedway, are pleased to introduce The Hero Program. The goal of The Hero Program is
to build a closer relationship between local kart racers and their “Heroes” racing cars on the local “big tracks” of Wisconsin.
Participants in the program will team up for the month of August for a combined points championship for the 2023 season. The program is open to all kart racers currently racing during the 2023 season racing at either GSR Kartway or Little Buckaroo Jr Motorsports Park, and their chosen
Hero.
How to sign up
Each kart racer under 18 years old wishing to participate in The Hero Program will sign up by July 15, 2023, by submitting their name and list of 3 potential Heroes they wish to team up with, to the promoter of their local kart track. Each Hero driver submitted will be contacted by the program between July 15th and 22nd 2023 to secure commitment to participate in the program.
How teams are formed
A live draft will be conducted on Sunday July 23rd at 4:00pm under the grandstand at Shawano Speedway. Each kart racer will draw a number to determine the draft board order for the event. Heroes will be drafted by their kart racer in draw order to make sure a Hero is part of only one team exclusively.
The draft will continue until all kart racers have teamed up with a Hero of their choice for the championship program. If a participating kart racer is unable to attend the live draft, the promoter of their home track will draw and select for them based on their submitted list of Heroes. The Hero
Program will coordinate with the home track of the Hero driver to allow free admission for a pre-season photo-op between the kart racer and their Hero teammate.
How the championship program works
Each kart racer and their Hero will submit their finishes for feature events from August 1 – August 31, 2023. The top 3 feature finishes for each kart racer will be added to the top 3 feature finishes for their Hero driver to determine their combined team score. The lowest team score will be crowned champions
of The Hero Program 2023. For example, if the top finishes for the kart racer are a 1st, 3rd, and 4th and the top finishes for the Hero are two 1st and a 3rd, the total team score will be 13 (1+3+4+1+1+3). The lowest possible score would be 6 points. Each team member must race at least 3 times in the month of August and submit their finishes to the program. If a teammate fails to race 3 feature events, 25 points will be added to the team total for each missing finish.
Ties will be broken by using the top average finish for the entire month of August, winning over the lower average finish with the same score. Kart feature finishes at both GSR Kartway and Little Buckaroo Jr Motorsports Park are eligible for the program.
Hero feature finishes at any Wisconsin circle track are eligible for the program.
K&E Sales of Clintonville is partnering with The Hero Program, sponsoring awards and contingency prizes to a minimum of the top 3 teams for the 2023 season.. A photo-op will be provided for the winning team at GSR Kartway during the month of September.
All participants will be provided with a decal for The Hero Program to be displayed on their race vehicle during the program, and also a championship
participant plaque commemorating their involvement.
