While summer technically isn’t here yet (at least in Wisconsin) the racing season is pretty much in full swing on both the dirt and paved tracks.

Some dirt track teams already have between 15-20 nights of racing in when you consider out-of-state trips many teams take.

Keeping your marketing partners up-to-date remains important as the season moves along. And even though we are six to eight weeks away from the true “Dog Daze” of summer, do your best not be lazy and blow off those lines of communication with your sponsors.

Whether you craft a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly newsletter, a quick email or a Facebook or Instagram post, stay dilligent with those things – even when you may have had a bad wreck, a blown motor or other mechanical woes along the way.

As the years go on, pit crews tend to get smaller, yet the amount of work involved with keeping a racing team rolling continue to multiply. Just consider your regular marketing efforts a basic part of your weekly routines – just like siping and grooving tires, a nut-and-bolt check, and everything else that goes along with regular maintenance.

I can’t stress this enough. If you’re NOT well-versed in things like spelling and grammar, find someone who is. That person or persons can assist you in putting together a colorful, eye-catching sponsorship deck.
