SNELLENBERGER NABS NO. 234, WHITE DOUBLES & BENNETT SCORES USRA LATE WIN AT EAGLE RIVER

(EAGLE RIVER, WI) July 22, 2025 – Pulaski’s “Hot Rod” Snellenberger bumped his career IMCA stock car feature win total to 234 by picking up that division’s feature win at Eagle River Speedway Tuesday.

Wisconsin’s winningest driver in the division started sixth on the grid in the 20 lap contest. Initially, it appeared that front row starter Jonathan Miller had the feature win in the bag. The Eagle River driver sprinted into the lead at the drop of the green of the race. Miller wasted little time building up a decent cushion between himself and the rest of the field.

Snellenberger caught up with Miller after six laps and pressured Miller for several circuits before flying past Miller on the high side on lap 12.

Snellenberger kept all challengers at bay and cruised to victory in the caution free event. Miller hung on to claim second place money. Last week’s feature winner Ryan Glembin took third, followed by Dustin White and Jason Zdroik rounding out the top five finishers.

White had himself a big night, scoring a pair of B mod feature wins. One of the victories was in the makeup race that was washed out from last week. In the makeup B main, White stormed into the lead on the opening round and never looked back in the yellow-free race.

In the night’s later B mod main, White started eighth, and worked his way up to 2nd by lap five. White squeezed past Dustin Kangas for the lead on lap eight and kept that top spot throughout a handful of caution periods White wound up in victory lane.

Eagle River racer Dave Bennett led every lap in the caution-free, USRA late model feature at Eagle River Speedway July 22.

For hometown driver Dave Bennett, the 2025 season has been one of mechanical breakdowns and much frustration for the veteran racer. Bennett sought redemption and got it here Tuesday night. Bennett outraced fellow front row starter Guy Carley into the lead at the drop of the green of the USRA late model feature. Bennett kept his distance from his foes and went on to win in the caution-free event. Stockholm’s Lucas Peterson, Michigan’s Jesse Aho, Eagle River’s Carley and Shawano’s Aaron Reivitis rounded out the top ten finishers.

Escanaba, Michigan’s Chase Richer survived heavy pressure from Minnesotan Tyler Pelofske but hung on to the lead and won the caution free, 600 micro sprint feature.

Twin Lakes, Michigan’s Cooper Aho grabbed the lead on the final circuit when leader Addison Dishaw spun and grabbed the Pro 300 micro sprint feature win. Manitowish Waters Archer Peter scored the Semi-Pro 300 micro sprint feature.

The street stock feature resembled more of a demolition derby than an oval track race. The contest, which started 15 contestants, only had seven running after the checkered flag flew mercifully. The contest was marred by numerous caution flags. Sugar Camp’s Jason Eisel kept his nose clean and scored the feature win.

Merrill’s Bobby Hommerding led every lap in the caution-free, pure stock feature while that division’s makeup feature from last week went to Tomahawk’s Trevor Schumann.

The 77 car field was comprised of drivers from three different states: Wisconsin, Michigan and Minnesota.

The next big event at the third-mile, clay oval will be Saturday, July 26 as a pair of big Monster Truck & Motorcycle shows will take place. A pair of shows will take place. You can check out the Eagle River Speedway Facebook page or visit monstertrucktour.com for additional information. Weekly Tuesday night racing resumes on Tuesday, July 29 with a kid’s coin and candy toss as an added attraction.

The first green flag flying at 7 p.m.
