SCHULTZ STRETCHES WIR POINT LEAD WITH SUPER LATE MODEL FEATURE WIN

(KAUKAUNA, WI) August 19 – Two time Red, White and Blue champion Maxwell Schultz of Reedsville passed Sawyer Effertz for the lead on lap 14 and went on to win the super late model feature at Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna Thursday. The win his first here of 2021.

Darboy’s Effertz outraced fellow front row starter Kyle Calmes into the lead at the drop of the green in the 35 lap contest. Taylor Vandermoss took over second a few circuits later and by lap seven Effertz and Vandermoss hooked up and put some distance between themselves and the balance of the field.

An amber flew on lap 12 for a Jeff Holmgren Jr. spin on the backstretch. With the field tightened back up the race restarted and kept the lead while the point leader Schultz began working the high line around Vandermoss for second. Schultz was able to pull off the pass on lap 14 and kept Effertz within striking distance for the next few laps.
