SCHMITT, LACROSSE SCORE IOWA FEATURE FLAGS – UPDATED DIRT FEATURE TOTALS & MORE

Despite freeze warnings and occasional snowflakes Wisconsin racers continue to travel south to get seat time in and a pair of Wisconsin modified pilots scored “W’s” at the XR Iowa Dirt Nationals at Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway in Dubuque, Iowa.
Beaver Dam’s Brandon Schmitt picked up the modified feature win on Friday night while Casco’s Benji La Crosse picked up the $2,000 victory on Saturday night.
Other Wisconsin finishers in Saturday’s A main were Seymour’s Brian Mullen who took 16th, Brillion’s Travis Hansen 20th and Jayden Schmidt of Seymour 22nd.
In stock car action over the weekend La Crosse picked up sixth, Johnson Creek’s Jeff Steenbergen 10th, Krakow’s Josh Mroczkowski 14th, Horicon’s Jeremy Christians 15th, Gillett’s Kyle Frederick 16th, Sobieski’s Nick Buckarma 17th, Travis Van Straten of Hortonville 18th and Green Bay’s Nathan Otto 22nd.
SHAWANO HALL OF FAMERS – Shawano Speedway has announced its 2023 Hall of Fame inductees will be former IMCA modified champion Eddie Muenster of Green Bay and Oostburg late model veteran Gordie Seegert Jr. A date for the HOF ceremony at the half-mile, clay oval is expected to be announced soon.
SO WHAT’S LEFT? – Tomahawk Speedway’s Ice Maker was “weathered out” this past weekend and has been rescheduled to Saturday, October 22. A 3 p.m. start is scheduled. Divisions competing include USRA late models, IMCA style stock cars, A mods, B mods, street stocks, pure stocks, 4 cylinders, 300 micro, 600 micros and Dairyland Vintage racers.

Dells Raceway Park will host it’s 8th annual annual Falloween event Saturday, October 22. A 2 p.m. start time is slated at the third-mile, paved oval. Twin 75 lap super late model features are on tap. Joining the super late models are the 602 late models and the Midwest Truck Series.
Champions will be crowned in the Alive For Five super late model series, DRP’s weekly 602 late models and the touring UMA 602’s.
In the Midwest truck series Lake Geneva’s James Swan has already mathematically clinched the series title with his 11th place finish at Oktoberfest race weekend at La Crosse.
