SCHEFFLER SHREDS OUTAGAMIE LATE MODEL FOES

(Seymour, Wisconsin) August 2 – Waukesha’s Taylor Scheffler sprinted from his pole position into the lead and never looked back as he led all 20 laps to win the late model feature at Outagamie Speedway in Seymour Friday.

Scheffler set a torrid pace right out of the box and began threading his way through lapped traffic by lap eight. At the checkers, Scheffler’s margin of victory over second place finisher Mike Mullen was a whopping 9.7 seconds in the caution-free event on the third-mile, clay oval. Mullen sliced his way through the field from seventh to place second. Justin Ritchie, Justin Schmidt and Jim Schmidt took third through fifth, respectively.

Oconto Falls’ Daniel Wilcox jumped into the lead at the drop of the green from his outside front row starting spot and never relinquished the top spot en route to winning the IMCA modified feature. The win was anything but easy as Wilcox fought heavy pressure in the waning laps from hometown driver Jayden Schmidt and Suamico’s Johnny Whitman who took second and third, respectively. Jason Ebert of Clintonville and Beaver Dam’s Skylar Woods rounded out the top five finishers.

Hortonville’s Chase Parker marched through the field from his 11th starting spot to grab the lead from Green Bay’s Nathan Otto with a handful of laps remaining to win the IMCA stock car feature. The stock car feature served up plenty of passing as Pulaski’s Rod Snellenberger charged from 14th to finish 2nd. Otto took third place while Josh Mroczkowski stormed through the pack from 10th to finish fourth. Brett Wenzel motored from 12th to place fifth.

Manitowoc’s Paul Diefenthaler charged through the field from his 10th starting spot and whistled past Beau Schroeder for the lead with a three wide pass and went on to win the street stock feature. Trailing at the checkers were Michael Czarapata, Trey Van Straten, Brooke Diefenthaler and Schroeder.

82-year-old racing veteran J.J. Smith of Appleton dusted off his racing helmet and climbed behind the wheel of Brian Besaw’s street stock. The former Seymour Speedway finished 15th on the lead lap.
