Bruce Belland, who won the second leg of the series July 13 at the D-shaped, 1/3 mile clay oval, holds a slim one point lead over Jason Zdroik who fired the opening salvo in the series by winning the series first event in June.

Jason Zdroik won the series first race in June.

Fall Creek’s Josh Smith, a tough competitor on the western half of Wisconsin, has propelled a pair of podium finishes to sit in third just four points out of first.

Former track champion Jesse Aho of Twin Lakes, Michigan sits fourth six points out of first while Phillips veteran Mickey Nosser, who copped his first feature win of the year two weeks ago, rounds out the top five 10 marks out of first.

The top ten drivers who finish in the points are guaranteed point fund money with the champion receiving $1,500. Currently two drivers sit tied at 10th in the final ‘money spot’ as weekly competitor Judd Skubal of Monico and Algoma veteran Randy Theys each have 62 points.

Joeverdegan.com will award a $100 cash bonus to the top finishing B modified driver in the feature who is competing in the division at Eagle River Speedway for the first time in 2021.

Of the top twenty drivers who’ve earned points in the series 13 are from Wisconsin while seven are from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

The series is open to IMCA-style sportmods, WISSOTA-style Midwest Modifieds and USRA B modifieds. All cars for this series are mandated to use the Hoosier G 60 tire. The series point fund sponsors include Chef Rene’s, Red’s Auto, Hartman Well Drilling and Coffen Construction.

A full show of stock cars, street stocks, 300 and 600 sprints is also on tap.

The draw cutoff for drivers is 6:45 p.m. Hot laps are set for 7:15 p.m. with the first green flag flying at 7:30 p.m.

Businesses and individuals who are willing to contribute to the point fund and potentially allow even more spots to pay out for the point fund are encouraged to reach out to zdroikseagleriverspeedway@gmail.com.

Fans and drivers are encouraged to check the track’s Facebook page as well as the track’s website eagleriverspeedway.com.
