NEVORASKI NETS FIRST EAGLE RIVER LATE MODEL FEATURE FLAG

(EAGLE RIVER, WI) July 18 – Minocqua’s Josh Nevoraski whisked past Tomahawk’s Zack Friske to take the lead late in the race and cruised to his first late model feature victory at Eagle River Speedway Tuesday.

Nevoraski stalked Friske, who held the lead from his pole position for much of the early going of the contest. Nevoraski was caught up in a sandwich between Zack Friske and third place runner Travis Friske.

The trio went wheel to wheel for several laps until Nevoraski pulled away to score a popular win. Travis Friske, Zack Friske, Austin Zdroik and Robbie Maas rounded out the top five finishers.

After missing a week of racing due to work, defending track champion Jesse Aho picked up the B modified win at Eagle River Speedway Tuesday. (flintography.com)

Defending track champion Jesse Aho of Twin Lakes, Michigan slipped past Iron Mountain, Michigan’s Frank Gasperini on the final circuit to collect the B mod feature. Gasperini played bridesmaid for the second straight week with a runnerup finish.

Other feature winners included Sugar Camp’s Jason Eisel (street stock), Eagle River’s David Blackberg (stock car) and Phillips Devin Fries (pure stock).

Boulder Junction’s Mya Towne scored a clean sweep – winning both her heat and feature in the 600 micro sprints at Eagle River Speedway Tuesday. (flintography.com)

Track crews broke out the broom for Boulder Junction’s Mya Towne. Towne scored a clean sweep in the 600 micro sprint division, winning both her heat and netting the feature win by passing Hoyt Cournoyer with two laps remaining to seal the deal.

The first 300 micro feature race got off to a rough start when Rhinelander’s Blake Joslin flipped in turn four.

Joslin was shaken up but otherwise unhurt. The features were won by Twin Lakes, Michigan’s Cooper Aho (Pro) and Ontonagon, Michigan’s Addison Dishaw (semi-pro).

Racing action will take place twice at Eagle River Speedway next week. The track’s regular, weekly program will take place on Tuesday night, July 25 with the first green flag flies at 7 p.m.

In addition, the winged, full-sized MSA sprint cars will make an appearance on the track’s Saturday night open wheel program July 29.  Joining the full-sized sprint cars will be the Chef Rene B modifieds, Halsey Fab/Dan’s Service 300 micro sprints, JD Paintball & Archery 600 micro sprints and the winged micro sprints from Escanaba Speedway will be on hand.

A 7 p.m. start time is in effect for the Saturday program. For further information fans are advised to check the track’s Facebook page.
