LOWELL BENNETT PODCAST SERIES SET TO LAUNCH JANUARY 17, 2022 AT JOEVERDEGAN.COM

(Dunbar, WI) – Motorsports journalist Joe Verdegan has announced a new podcast series featuring veteran pavement and dirt track short track star Lowell Bennett will be launched at his website joeverdegan.com on January 17, 2022.

The podcast series will launch a new episode weekly for several months every Monday morning on or near 9 a.m. Central Standard Time.

Veteran super late model racer Lowell Bennett, shown here at Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna, Wisconsin in 2021, will begin telling his stories through a podcast series at joeverdegan.com beginning Monday, January 17, 2022.

The 63-year-old Bennett, from Neenah, Wisconsin won his very first race as a teenager in 1976 at Shawano Speedway, wheeling an older Chevelle formerly driven by not only his dad “Mr. B” Bobby Bennett but also Jerry “Medina” Smith.

In a storied racing career spanning multiple decades, Bennett has pretty much “been there” and “done that” by winning dozens of track and series championships. Bennett’s resume includes five Slinger Nationals wins, seven Slinger (WI) Speedway track titles, five Fox River Racing Club crowns at Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna, Wisconsin and five Red, White and Blue state championships at WIR.

In addition, Bennett is a two-time MARS series late model champion, the 1997 World Series of Stock Car racing champion at New Smyrna (FL) Speedway and is a three-time Wisconsin Fans for Auto Racing late model driver of the year.

On dirt Bennett also has one track championship under his belt from Shawano Speedway.

Bennett was also a 2015 inductee into the Wisconsin Short Track Hall of Fame as well as WIR’s “Circle of Fame’ in 2020.

Bennett’s stories begin from the very beginning as a child tagging along with his dad Bobby Bennett at tracks like Shiocton, Apple Creek and Shawano as a toddler up through 2021 where in between his brothers have raced on dirt and asphalt along with his sons and daughters.

Verdegan has covered the Wisconsin and Michigan racing scene for several decades. He was a motorsports columnist for the Green Bay Press Gazette and Appleton Post Crescent. He’s had seven books published, including a pair of No. 1 Amazon best sellers: “The Reformatory” in 2020 and “5-10-32 McBride, Parker & Anvelink” in 2021.

All of Verdegan’s books are for sale at his website joeverdegan.com
