LINDSLEY LANDS IN NORWAY SPEEDWAY VICTORY LANE
(WENDER, VANDER LOOP, BOURGEOIS & LOBERGER ALSO SCORE FEATURE WINS)
(Norway, MI) August 6 – 2020 track champion Dan Lindsley of Vulcan passed Iron Mountain’s Cory Cootware for the lead and lap seven and carefully picked his way through lapped cars to win the caution free 50 lap late model feature at Norway Speedway Friday.
The late models were just one of four division’s who’s features went wire-to-wire without a caution. The same could be said in the sport trucks where Freedom, Wisconsin’s Kasey Vander Loop fought off his brother Cody Vander Loop to capture the win.
Marinette, Wisconsin’s Mike Loberger and Iron Mountain’s Paul Bourgeois both were first time feature winners in the 4 banger and stock car classes, respectively.
Defending super stock champion Ryan Wender of Upper Pine Creek fought off a late race surge from point leader Joey Pontbriand and fast qualifier John Komp to score a popular victory in the super stock main.
The first sport truck heat was red flagged when 88-year-old Pete Zarnoth collided with another truck during warmup laps. The crash sent Zarnoth’s truck into a series of flips entering turn one. Zarnoth was conscious and alert and talking with paramedics while his truck sustained heavy damage.
Racing resumes next Friday, August 13. The action gets underway at 7 p.m.
