(Manitowoc, WI) Oct. 17 – A pair of very ‘young-at-heart’ Manitowoc, Wisconsin area racing legends will accompany motorsports author Joe Verdegan at the 2nd Annual Lakeshore Book Show and Author Signing Presented by Pedal Down Promotions at Sabbatical Brewing Co. in Manitowoc, Wisconsin Saturday, Nov. 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

92-year-old Wagner, a Two Rivers native, and 93-year-old Fitzgerald from Manitowoc are both featured in Verdegan’s 2015 release “Life In The Past Lane – a history of stock car racing in northeast Wisconsin from 1950-1980.” Each driver has chapters covering their respective colorful racing history, and Fitzgerald is showcased on the book’s front cover.
The pair is among the most successful stock car racers ever to emerge from Manitowoc County, both earning dozens of feature wins and mopping up several track championships in both the coupe era and modified racing scene from the 1950’s and 1960’s.
Verdegan and Jeff Pederson of Pedal Down Promotions have teamed up to produce four of Verdegan’s seven books – including the 2020 Amazon No. 1 best-selling book “The Reformatory – Tales From Green Bay’s maximum-security prison.” All of Verdegan’s seven titles will be on sale on Nov. 4.
28 different authors representing a plethora of different genres and interests will be on hand at the show, which is free to spectators.
