Luxemburg native Benji LaCrosse always seems to rise to the occasion when high dollar shows are on the line.

LaCrosse drew first blood in a week of big paying specials by scoring the IMCA modified and stock car feature wins at the 2nd annual Eric Van Iten Memorial race at The ‘Burg Speedway in Luxemburg, Wisconsin July 17.

The special event kicked off a week where big money is available to dirt racers in Northeastern Wisconsin. At 141 Speedway in Francis Creek, Wisconsin the $10,000-to-win King of the Creek V takes place Thursday night, July 21 and preliminaries the prior two nights.

Two nights later at Shawano Speedway July 23 “Big Money Style” at the Half-Mile will serve up a $5,000-to-win for the IMCA modifieds and another $2,500-to-win payday for the winner of the IMCA stock car division.

WEEKEND WRAPUP – A handful of racers who currently rank in the top ten in their respective IMCA sanctioned divisions in all time Wisconsin winners boosted their totals with wins over the weekend.

LaCrosse’s modified win pushed him to total of 131 sanctioned modified victories, which leads the way in all time Wisconsin winners.

Brian Mullen of Seymour sits 2nd (129) and Green Bay native R.M. “Buck” Van Pay sits third in all time sanctioned modified victories with 128.

while former national stock car champion Travis Van Straten of Hortonville netted his 126th career stock car feature flag at Shawano.

Van Straten currently sits third behind Pulaski’s Rod Snellenberger (220) and Pulaski native Brandon Czarapata (132) in all time Wisconsin wins.

LOOKING AHEAD – Friday night @ Outagamie Speedway in Seymour the powerful 410 IRA Outlaw sprint cars will invade the third-mile, clay oval at the Outagamie County Fairgrounds.

Joining the 900 horsepower winged warriors in the Friday night special will be the IMCA modifieds and stock cars. The hammer drops at Seymour at 7 p.m.

For the big special @ Shawano Speedway Saturday night July 23 all of the weekly classes (with the exception of the 4 cylinders) will be in action Saturday with a 6 p.m. start time.

THE HILL – It’s “Christmas in July” night at The Hill Raceway in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin Saturday, July 23. As a few added attractions it’s also Kid’s night at the races with Big Wheel races sponsored by Gnome Games and Round II of the Modifieds making an appearance at the third-mile, clay oval. A 6 p.m. start time is set for the action at John Miles Park in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.

LUXEMBURG HOF NIGHT – The popular “Hall of Fame” night at The ‘Burg Speedway in Luxemburg will wrap up a big weekend of racing in northeastern Wisconsin Sunday night, July 24.
