FIVE NEW WINNERS FIND VICTORY LANE IN EAGLE RIVER SPEEDWAY CURTAIN CLOSER
(EAGLE RIVER, WI) SEPT 5 – It was a night of first time winners, as six drivers found their way to victory lane for the first time in 2026 on the final night of racing in 2026 at Eagle River Speedway Saturday.
Suring’s Daniel Sell Jr. captured his first IMCA stock car feature here, surviving heavy pressure all race long from Mitch Stankowski and Rod Snellenberger to score the victory in his first appearance here in ’26.
Snellenberger stormed past Stankowksi on a late race restart to snag the runnerup spot. Stankowski settled for third, followed by hometown driver Trentin Bell and Suamico’s Tim Van De Hei.
Iron Ridge’s Austin Zdroik fought off heavy pressure all contest long from Mass City, Michigan’s Kory Joliff to cop his first B modified feature of the year here. The race was littered with yellows – including a pair of cautions in the first two circuits. Joliff hung on to place second. Birnamwood’s Spencer Uttecht caught up with the lead duo when they encountered lapped traffic late in the race and finished third.
Ryan Kuehn and Andy Fink placed fourth and fifth, respectively.
Jason Zdroik won the caution-free, 20 lap USRA late model feature by nearly a half-lap margin over 2nd place Jim Zdroik. Lucas Peterson, Chad Lederer and Dan Zelten placed third through fifth, respectively.
The victory was Zdroik’s fourth here of the season in this division.
Pell Lake’s Cody Potter passed Luxemburg’s Shanon Guelette for the lead on lap seven, and cruised to victory in the caution-free, 20 lap feature. The win was Potter’s first here of the season. Trailing at the checkers were Guelette, Michigan’s Brayden Lundquist, Jason Eisel and Brady Ascherien.
Hometown driver Cole Bennett fought off a stiff challenge all contest long from track champion Devin Fries of Phillips to capture his first, 15-lap pure stock feature of the year.
Boulder Junction’s Katherine Towne grabbed the lead on a restart with four circuits remaining and cruised to victory in the 600 micro sprint feature. The win was her first here of the year.
The 300 micro sprint semi-pro feature was red flagged on lap four when Rubicon’s Duke Zdroik slammed hard into the frontstretch wall coming out of turn four on the frontstretch. Zdroik emerged unhurt, but his machine suffered significant damage. That race was won by hometown driver Colton Glembin. The victory was Glembin’s first here of his career.
The Pro feature was captured by division track champion Carter Aho of Twin Lakes, Michigan. The victory was Aho’s fifth here of the year.
Luxemburg’s Dan Schultz won the Dairyland Vintage feature.
