FIRST TIME WINNERS ABOUND AT GSR (submitted by Scott J. Owen)
(CLINTONVILLE, WI) Aug. 13 – It turned out to be a night of first timers Wednesday at the GSR Kartway.
Kiddie Kart racer Kyren Volkey scored a feature win while racing at the track for the first time ever. Harry Guralski secured his first feature win in the Rookie Box Stock class. Ty Reichenberger notched his first win in his first night of action in the Box Stock division. While Racing for Education pilot Evan Harris reached victory lane for the first time also.
In Junior Two competition Bennet Bongers raced to his 5th feature win of the summer. In Junior Three racing, Chase Goodman was again the class of the field with his fourth win of the year.
Blake Aschenbrenner outduelled Jesse Heery, Tyler Olson, and Natalie Uttech en route to his third feature win in the Sportsman division. Payton Anderson ran to her third win of the year in the R Box Wing class. Chad Olson cruised to his third victory in the Senior class. While Andy Mares scored an emotional win in the Outlaw Mower class by racing his late brother Aaron’s machine to his second feature win of the year.
Racing will continue this Friday, August 15th as well as the next two Wednesdays. The track will also host its annual fall special event, the Badger 50, on September 27th. More information can be found online at gsrkartway.com or on the track’s Facebook page.
