EAGLE RIVER SPEEDWAY SETS ’21 AWARDS BANQUET FOR APRIL 29

Hometown driver David Blackberg will be one of several 2021 champions honored at the Eagle River Speedway awards banquet April 29 at Chef Rene’s at The Inn in Eagle River.

(Chef Rene’s at the Eagle River Inn to host fete to kick off ’22 season)
(EAGLE RIVER, WI) April 11 – Eagle River Speedway will crown their 2021 season champions at an awards banquet at Chef Rene’s at the Inn in Eagle River Friday, April 29.
Track promoters Pat and Patti Zdroik have put together this later-than-normal affair to help kick off the track’s 2022 campaign. “Late 2021 and early ’22 we’re very challenging times for our family for several reasons,” Patti Zdroik said. “We realize this is late but and we sincerely thank everyone for their patience. We want to celebrate our champions and thank our wonderful sponsors, and this seems like the perfect fit for us to kick off our 2022 racing season.”
During the ’21 season at Eagle River Speedway 128 drivers from four states squared off in seven divisions at the resurfaced D-shaped third-mile clay oval.
The 2021 track champions in the respective divisions included Eagle River’s Jason Zdroik (Chef Rene B modifieds and Sweetwater ERS late models), Eagle River’s David Blackberg (Coffen Construction stock cars), Ontonagon, Michigan’s Dave Dishaw (Eagle River Dock & Lift street stock), Phillips’ Roger Walker (pure stocks) Tomahawk’s Kaeden Bethel (Halsey Fab/Dan’s Service 300 micro sprint) and Phelps’ Dustin Kangas (JD Archery & Paintball 600 micro sprint).
Doors open at 5 p.m. with a cash bar. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. with the awards presentation to follow.
