EAGLE RIVER SPEEDWAY OPENS UP TIRE RULE FOR B MODS, OTHER CLASSES IN ‘22
(Four tire options available for B Mods, stock cars)
(EAGLE RIVER, WISCONSIN) April 22– Eagle River Speedway promoters Pat and Patti Zdroik have decided to open up the tire rules in a few divisions in 2022 to combat the current nationwide tire shortage.
Drivers who compete in the track’s B Mod and stock car classes will have four different options available to use for tires on their race cars. The tires allowed in 2022 for the weekly races at the track will be the IMCA Hoosier G 60, the WISSOTA Hoosier W-35, The USRA American Racer G 60 and the newer, Southwest Speed G 60.
Additionally, the track’s street stock division will be allowed to run the Hoosier G 60 or the Southwest Speed G 60.
“We aren’t sanctioned through any particular group or body here so don’t have much of a choice but to open this up a little bit for the drivers,” Pat Zdroik said. “The last thing we want is having any race cars sitting at home in their shops. We need the driver participation to keep the track rolling. We need the continued support of both our local contingent of drivers and the travelers who pop in here from time to time. We need all of them to make this work.”
The B Mod division is the one class that typically draws the most cars for both weekly racing and specials. For the track’s popular B Mod Triple Crown Series three of the four tire options will be available with the exception being the WISSOTA Hoosier W-35 which won’t be allowed for those shows only scheduled for June 21, July 12 and August 9.
Nothing will change in terms of tire rules for the track’s other weekly classes which are the ERS late models, 300 junior sprints and 600 micro sprints.
The season opening race is scheduled for Sunday, May 29 with the first green flag flying at 7:30 p.m. All the track’s weekly classes will be in action with the local pure stocks and Dairyland Vintage Racers also taking part in the show. Veterans and active military personnel will be admitted free during the season opening race. A fireworks display courtesy of Harry’s Fireworks will cap off the action Sunday night.
The GPS address for the racetrack is 3961 Cloverland Drive, Eagle River, Wisconsin 54521. You can follow the track through our website eagleriverspeedway.com or follow us on our Facebook page. You can email zdroikseagleriverspeedway@gmail.com for additional information.
