The racing season is just about here. The car is lettered. The body panels are all straight without a tire mark on the car.
You’ve got your team of marketing partners logos splashed all over your race car – maybe even on your team transporter or a snazzy custom-made racing suit among the avenues of exposure for your new marketing partners.
As this season moves forward one thing you must keep in mind – keep communicating with our marketing partners. Too many race teams will often deposit the check they receive from their marketing partner(s) and in some cases won’t reach out to these businesses until the end of the season. Or even worse – they’ll show up with their handout in Fall for the next season.
Something as simple as a weekly post on your Facebook or Instagram page showcasing your performance that week can go a long way. Make sure you tag the decision maker(s) from the sponsor(s). Showcase or highlight one of those partners each week. Stay in constant communication with them to let them know how things are going.
Over the decades sadly I’ve seen too many instances where sponsors get soured from a bad deal and pull away from motorsports completely.
