CZARNESKI, WILINSKI, ORESKOVICH & VAN OOYEN NAB OUTAGAMIE FAIR FEATURES

(SEYMOUR, WI) June 26 – Denmark’s Cole Czarneski pulled off a thrilling, last lap pass coming out of turn four on race leader Josh Long and went on to win the IMCA modified feature at Outagamie Speedway in Seymour on fair night Friday.

Czarneski also captured his heat race win, earning him a clean sweep for the night.

Hometown driver Jayden Schmidt bolted into the lead at the drop of the green of the 20-lap contest. Long, who started outside the front row, slipped past Schmidt for the lead on lap four.

One circuit later, Czarneski hustled into the runnerup spot. The Denmark Ace had slowly began chewing away at Long’s advantage, catching Long at the event’s halfway point.

The pair battled for the lead, and sifted through lapped cars in the final five circuits. Czarneski motored past Long as the lead duo raced off of turn four for the win. Long hung onto second place money. Schmidt, Mike Mullen and Dylon Waldvogel placed third through fifth, respectively.

Hometown driver Jerry Wilinski emerged triumphant in the IMCA stock car main, following a see-saw battle with Mike Mullen.

Wilinski started fifth in the race, and stalked Mullen early on. Mullen had wrestled the lead away from Chase Parker on lap four. The Seymour drivers pulled away from the pack and the duo went door-to-door for the next several circuits.
Manitowoc’s Brett Wenzel broke through early traffic to take third on lap six, and caught up with the leaders and a three-car scrum ensured for the lead.

After a lap nine restart, Mullen and Wilinski swapped the lead a handful of times. Wilinski was stout enough to fend off Mullen’s late race challenges to score a popular win. Mullen took second, followed by Wenzel, Kyle Frederick and Trent Nolan.

Earlier in the night, the IMCA stock cars ran a makeup feature that was washed out on June 5. Freedom’s Kegan Van Ooyen picked up the win – his first ever in his young racing career.

Clintonville’s Max Oreskovich lead wire-to-wire, sweating out a handful of caution periods to win the IMCA northern sportmod feature.
