BUDGETING TIME FOR MOTORSPORTS MARKETING by Joe Verdegan

(MAY, 2024 MONTHLY MOTORSPORTS MARKETING MAIL TIP)

Last month we talked about how motorsports marketing is something that truly can (and should) be done in some capacity 52 weeks a year.

With that being said, one critical key to this is making sure to budget some time to apply towards your motorsports marketing efforts.

You most likely already have built in ‘shop nights’ so why can’t you do the same with your marketing efforts?

With our mobile devices sharing your team’s plans, efforts, results, etc. is right at your fingertips. It’s never been easier.

So DON’T be lazy. DON’T take the money and run. That type of stuff doesn’t fly anymore. Businesses now more than ever want to see a true ROI (Return On Investment). Whether you wind up in victory lane or need a wrecker to help you load your battered and beaten racer onto the trailer, give your marketing partners their due and post your stuff on whatever social media platforms you employ.

Whether it’s Instagram. Snapchat. X (formerly Twitter) or Facebook, make sure you get something out there. Some of the more polished teams still send out email updates. (Remember though if doing that to use blind carbon copy (BCC) as to not potentially ‘spam’ your media and marketing contacts).

Also don’t forget if you have a not-so-good night and tempers maybe have flared sometimes its best to sleep on it as you will be less tempted to post something you may live to regret down the line.

We do assist race teams with putting together sponsorship decks which are a critical tool in the great money hunt. Simply drop me an email at jverdegan2@gmail.com and let’s get those conversations started.
