FAST MONEY UP FOR GRABS FOR ERIC VAN ITEN MEMORIAL NIGHT AT THE ‘BURG SPEEDWAY JULY 17
($5,000-to-win for IMCA Stock Cars, $2500-to-win for IMCA Mods)
Luxemburg, WI. – The Eric Van Iten Memorial Night set for Sunday, July 17 at The ‘Burg Speedway in Luxemburg, Wisconsin is once again shaping up to be a fitting tribute to fallen racer Eric Van Iten.
Thanks to the effort spearheaded by fellow racer, co-worker and one of Van Iten’s great friends Troy “Snoot” DeGrave the Sunday night special will be looking to gather national attention once again this year.
The total payout for the 2022 event has already reached $35,000 across the four divisions, the same amount the 2021 show began with.  Last year’s event ended up having a total payout of just under $79,000 when the final checkered flag flew.
Thanks to numerous sponsors and donations from fans, crews, and fellow drivers, The ‘Burg Speedway will once again host one of the largest, single night shows in Wisconsin for 2022.  Headlining the action will be 25 lap features in both the IMCA Modified and Stock Cars classes. The feature winners in those respective divisions will take home the lion’s share of a $35,000 purse with a $5000 top prize for the Stock Cars and $2500 for the top Mod driver.
Not to be forgotten are the IMCA Northern Sport Mod and Unified Dirt Street Stock classes with $800 on the line for the winner of the Sport Mod feature and a $500 payout up for grabs in the Street Stock class.
In addition the evening will feature bucket raffles and a 50\50 drawing.  Benefits from those activities will be donated to one of Eric’s favorite charities, the Denmark chapter of Wings Over Wisconsin.  Last year a total of $23,129.47 was raised and donated to the Denmark Chapter of Wings Over Wisconsin.
Each driver will also have a chance to buy up to two mulligan draws for $10 each.  The money generated by this will go to the payout for the night.
Anyone interested in contributing to the purse through sponsorship or donations can contact DeGrave at (920)371-2679 or the track on how to get involved.  The track will also be accepting items for raffle prizes.
There has also been an account set up at Nicolet National Bank for anyone looking to donate to the drivers’ contingency fund, any branch will accept a deposit to the Eric Van Iten Memorial Race Fund.
The night will be for state, regional, and national points but will not be a track points night.  Modified, Stock Car, and Sport Mod divisions will be IMCA sanctioned and follow all IMCA rules.  Street Stocks will be running under the Unified Dirt Street Stock rules package.  The format for the evening will be draw\redraw.  22 cars will qualify for the feature race in the Modifieds & Stock Cars with two additional drivers joining each field under a promoter’s provisional for a total of 24 cars to start those features.
Pits open at 1:00 p.m. with the grandstand opening at 3 p.m. and racing at 5 p.m.
Pit and admission prices will remain the same as weekly shows. Mark your calendar now for Sunday July 17th as we gather to celebrate the memory of Eric Van Iten and realize the impact his life left behind on the racing community.
