BEST-SELLING AUTHOR VERDEGAN TO LAUNCH HIS 1ST MOTORSPORTS BOOK IN FIVE YEARS FEB. 6 2027
(DUNBAR, WI) – Longtime motorsports announcer, writer and promoter Joe Verdegan has announced he will release his next book in February, 2027 called “Joe Verdegan’s 5 Decades Of Chasin’ Racin’.
The Green Bay native has been announcing and writing about the local and regional stock car scene since the early-to-mid 1980’s. This next book, his first motorsports book since 2021, will be a collection of colorful, behind-the-scenes tales about the track and series he worked for over the decades.
“Basically, this book will contain a lot of funny stories I have encountered along the way, and some behind-the-scenes stuff I have encountered, both good and bad, over the years dealing with promoters, fans, co-workers and drivers,” said Verdegan, whose last motorsports book was “5-10-32 McBride, Parker & Anvelink” in 2021. “Basically, if I’ve ever announced at a track you’ve attended, if I’ve worked for or with you, or if you’ve ever read any of my racing columns throughout the decades, you’re probably going to want to pick up a copy of this book.”
In addition to announcing at nearly three dozen race tracks across five Midwestern states, Verdegan was a former motorsports columnist for the Midwest Racing News & Checkered Flag Racing News. In the mid-1990’s, Verdegan cracked into the Green Bay media market, where he penned a regular racing column in the Green Bay News Chronicle, Green Bay Press Gazette and the Appleton Post Crescent.
Verdegan also promoted the Badger Mod Tour in 2012-2013, and the Badger Stock Tour in 2013.
Verdegan launched his own website on September 15, 2020 with joeverdegan.com. His website promises fresh content 52 weeks a year. The racing news and history website serves up both written stories and audio podcasts. The popular website also serves as a vehicle for his book sales, and averages just under 170,000 visitors annually.
The official launch for “Joe Verdegan’s 5 Decades Of Chasin’ Racin’ will take place at the Wisconsin Motorsports Expo in Luxemburg on Saturday, February 6, 2027 at the Kewaunee County Fairgrounds. Verdegan’s books will also be available for pre-sale after that date on his website.
