BENNETT GOES WIRE-TO-WIRE IN EAGLE RIVER SPEEDWAY USRA LATE MODEL MAIN
(EAGLE RIVER, WI) June 23 – Hometown driver Dave Bennett led wire-to-wire, leading every lap en route to winning the USRA late model feature at Eagle River Speedway Tuesday.
The victory was Bennett’s first here of the season.
Bennett outraced fellow front row starter Jeff Thomas into the lead at the drop of the green in the 20-lap contest. A lap seven caution for a Todd Gorny spin tightened the field. On the restart, Thomas applied the pressure to Bennett, with Jason McFadden also putting the heat on in third.
The trio dodged lapped cars in the waning laps, as Bennett cruised to victory. Thomas took second, followed by McFadden, Lucas Peterson and Jason Zdroik.

Mass City, Michigan’s Kory Joliff also took a page from Bennett’s book, leading all 20 laps and fighting off a stiff, late race challenge from Dave Dishaw in the final circuits to win the B mod feature.
The contest went green-to-checkered without a yellow. Dishaw would wind up settling for second place money at the pay window. Ryan Brown, George Dalbeck and Dustin White finished third through fifth, respectively. Joliff became the fourth different winner in as many weeks in the division.
It was White who earlier in the night scored the IMCA stock car feature.
Polesitter Trentin Bell looked like the man to beat in the early going of the 20-lap feature. White motored into second place early on, and after early contact between the two entering turn three, Bell looped his mount in turn four, and was charged with the caution.
White inherited the lead, and kept the top spot through a bevy of yellows. After a restart with seven circuits remaining, Rod Snellenberger charged into second, and began trading the lead with White. However, White would fend off Snellenberger’s challenges to score his second win here in the class.
Snellenberger took second, with Jeff Bodendorfer, Jordan Kurtti and Montello visitor Tyler Schrimpf placing third through fifth.

Rhinelander’s Hope Eisel won her second street stock feature win of the year at Eagle River Speedway June 23. (Castle Creations)
Hope Eisel fought off a long challenge from her dad Jason Eisel, and sweated out numerous caution periods to score her second street stock feature win here of the year. Jason Eisel took second, with NIck Allard, Quentin Morrison and Blake Joslin finishing third through fifth, respectively.
Stacy, Minnesota’s Tyler Pelofske nabbed his second, 600 micro sprint feature. The 15-lap contest went green-to-checkered without a caution. Tomahawk’s Trevor Schumann won his second pure stock feature of the year here. Like the 600’s, the pure stock feature also went caution free without a yellow.
Ontonagon, Michigan’s Addison Dishaw scored her second 300 micro sprint pro feature win of the year while hometown driver Reed Joslin won the 1st feature flag of the year in the semi-pro 300 main.
Racing resumes Tuesday, June 30 at 7:00. The track will host the first of two, IMCA modified, Fast Shaft qualifying races. The 600 micro sprints and the pure stocks are off. For more information check out the track’s Facebook page.
