The short track racing world lost a legend on August 1, 1981 at Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna, Wisconsin when Wausau’s Larry Detjens passed away as a result from injuries suffered in a crash with Alan Kulwicki.
Randerson was one of many who responded to assist Detjens after the crash at the backstretch pit entrance. Randerson talks about the aftermath of the crash and how Kulwicki took some heat after that wreck and rebounded from it.
Give it a listen.
