(Hansen candidly discusses his near four-decade, colorful racing career)
(Dunbar, Wisconsin) – A nine-episode podcast series featuring longtime ASA & ARTGO frontrunner and Wisconsin International Raceway champion Scott Hansen of Green Bay will debut at joeverdegan.com Monday, March 20.
The son of longtime northeastern Wisconsin flagman Rollie Hansen, Scott Hansen cut his teeth on northeastern Wisconsin’s powerful dirt half-mile circuit at tracks at De Pere, Seymour and Shawano in the mid-1970’s. But Hansen’s first big win came ironically on a third mile against a stud-starred field at Luxemburg Speedway in 1977.
From there, Hansen went on to have a successful pavement career, netting five straight Fox River Racing Club (FRRC) late model championships at WIR in Kaukauna from 1985 to 1989. Hansen then moved to Milwaukee and essentially earned a living racing for a few different car owners in the very competitive short track scene of the 1990s, earning rookie-of-the-year honors in the American Speed Association (ASA) in 1989 and was a five-time winner at the famed Milwaukee Mile.
Hansen’s career also included a stint in the NASCAR Craftsman truck series where he piloted a truck for Ken Schrader in 1999.
