ANVELINK EARNS CAREER WIN NO. 200 WITH OUTAGAMIE SPEEDWAY DIRT KINGS LATE MODELS

(SEYMOUR, WI) Sept. 11 – Bonduel’s Nick Anvelink hit a milestone at Outagamie Speedway in Seymour Friday. The second-generation racer scored his 200th career feature win by capturing the Dirt Kings late model feature at the third-mile, clay oval.

A bulk of Anvelink’s victories have come in the late model class in Anvelink’s three-decade career.

Anvelink jumped into the lead of the 30 lap contest from his pole position, and never relinquised the top spot all contest long. Lukas Postl and Joel Bennett waged a torrid battle for the runnerup spot for several laps early in the race. Anvelink began skillfully threading his way through lapped cars by lap 11.

The action was halted on lap 23 for a Chris Engels spin. This tightened the field, and Waukesha’s Taylor Scheffler whisked past Bennett on the restart to snag the runnerup spot. Anvelink kept hitting his marks on the slicked over, but relatively smooth oval and collected the win. Scheffler took second place, with Bennett, Troy Springborn and Justin Ritchie placing third through fifth, respectively.

Beaver Dam’s Brandon Schmitt wrestled the lead away from fellow front row starter Todd “Felix” Dart on lap two, and kept the top position the balance of the contest to win the IMCA modified feature.

A caution with six laps remaining tightened the field, with Benji LaCrosse, Dart and Jason Czarapata engaging in a three car scrum to decide who would take second place. LaCrosse took the bridesmadie spot, with Czarapata mounting a late race surge from his 10th starting spot to finish third.

Dart and Derek Janke took fourth and fifth place, respectively.

Montello’s Tyler Schrimpf went wire-to-wire, jumping into the lead at the drop of the green, and scoring the IMCA stock car feature win in a caution-free event. Green Bay’s Eric Mahlik broke through early race traffic and placed second. Chase Parker, Kyle Frederick and Kenny Richards rounded out the top five finishers.

Hortonville’s Dylan Schmidt grabbed the lead at the halfway point of the IMCA sportmod feature, and fought off fellow hometown racers Ryan Schmidt and Jordan Jahnke and found victory lane. Ryan Schmidt and Jahnke placed second and third, respectively. Green Bay drivers Jake Carpenter and Tyler DeMars grabbed the fourth and fifth finishing spots, respectively.

Luxemburg’s Shanon Guelette swept action in the street stock division, collecting both the head and feature while Oshkosh’s Cody Booth emerged triumphant in the IMCA sport compact feature.

Racing resumes on Saturday night September 12. Another full program is racing in on tap, as the grand national and legends divisions will join the program with the track’s five weekly classes. A 5:30 p.m. start time is on tap. For more information check out our website outagamiespeedway.com or check out our Facebook page
