AHO FLIES TO $1,000, CAUTION FREE EAGLE RIVER PAYDAY

JESSE AHO FLIES TO $1,000 EAGLE RIVER SPEEDWAY PAYDAY
(EAGLE RIVER, WI) August 9 – Twin Lakes, Michigan’s Jesse Aho stormed through the pack from his eight starting spot and passed leader Jason Zdroik with six laps remaining to win Round II of the B Mod triple crown challenge at Eagle River Speedway Tuesday night.
The contest went green-to-checkered without a yellow. When Zdroik drew the number one starting spot many in the stands assumed the race was all but over. But Aho had other ideas. Riding the high side Aho motored his way up to fourth by lap five and wrestled the third spot away from Bruce Belland three circuits later.
Aho squeezed past Mickey Nosser for second a few laps later and set his sights on Zdroik. Aho stormed past Zdroik on lap 14 and cruised to victory. “These Triple Crown races always seem tough and we always start deep in the field,” Aho said in victory lane. “It felt good to get this one.”
Zdroik scored second, followed by Belland, Nosser and Dave Dishaw.
Zdroik scored some redemption later in the night by winning the late model feature.
In stock car action defending track champion David Blackberg snatched the lead from fellow hometown driver Jonathon Miller on lap six and cruised to victory in the division’s 15 lap feature while the “Mayor of Sugar Camp” Jason Eisel scored the street stock feature win.
Young Trevor Schumann of Tomahawk scored the pure stock feature win.
Boulder Junction’s Mya Towne scored the clean sweep in the 600 micro class by winning both the heat and the feature race. The 300 micro features were captured by Twin Lakes, MI driver Cooper Aho and Ontonagon, MI racer Addison Dishaw.
