IOWAN ANDREWS SWEEPS 141 WITTKOPF MEMORIAL – BAGS 5K PAYDAY
(FRANCIS CREEK, WI) OCT. 10 – Blake Andrews took an immediate liking to 141 Speedway in Francis Creek, and for good reason.
The Iowan capped off two big nights of racing by leading all 30 laps and winning the $5,000, 3rd annual Rod Wittkopf Memorial IMCA sportmod feature at 141 Speedway Saturday. The night prior, Andrews also won, pocketing the $2,000 top prize.
The contest went caution-free without a yellow.
Andrews sprinted into the top spot from his outside, front row starting spot at the drop of the green of the 30-lap contest. Andrews set a torrid pace, very quickly distancing himself from the balance of the field. The Estherville, Iowa pilot began threading his way through lapped cars beginning on lap 12.
Meanwhile Green Bay’s Jake Carpenter, the 2025 winner of this event, took part in a spirited battle with ’26 track champion Coy Vlies for the last ten circuits. When Andrews got bottled up in lapped traffic during the final five circuits, Carpenter was able to close the gap. However, that margin was too much for Carpenter to make up as Andrews took the win, fattening his wallet to the tune of $7,000 after winning both feature races.
Carpenter settled for second place at the pay window. Vlies finished third, followed by Brady Harshbarger and Elijah Koenig.
Burnett’s Cody Apfelbeck took the lead on a three-wide pass with seven laps remaining, and went on to win the caution-free, IMCA modified feature.
Joel Seegert Sr led the early laps of the main event, with Apfelbeck jumping into second by lap five. Apfelbeck began chipping away at the five-car length lead that Seegert Sr had built up. Friday night’s feature winner, Todd “Felix” Dart caught up with Apfelbeck and Seegert Sr on lap 18 when Apfelbeck stormed past the other two competitors to grab the lead.
Dart kept within striking distance of Apfelbeck in the waning laps, but Apfelbeck fought off Dart to claim the win. Dart took second across the finish line, with Cole Czarneski mounting a late race charge to wrestle the third spot away from Seegert Sr. at the checkers.
Little Suamico’s Tyler Wilson fought off a stiff, late race surge from Luke Lemmens and Vlies to capture the IMCA stock car feature.
Lemmens and Vlies took the second and third positions, respectively. Rod Snellenberger and Josh Mroczkowski finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
Cole Czarneski guest drove Cory Lemirande’s street stock to victory in that division’s feature race, while Kaukauna’s Taylor Rahn pulled off the same fete in the grand national division.
Burlington, Wisconsin visitor Matt VanderVere pulled off his second IMCA sport compact feature wins in as many nights.
The staff at 141 Speedway want to thank the drivers, fans, sponsors and employees for a successful 2026 season. For more information during the off season, check out our website 141speedway.com or check out our Facebook page.
