EAGLE RIVER SPEEDWAY WASHED OUT AUG. 25 – CHAMPIONS CROWNED
(EAGLE RIVER, WI) AUG. 25 – Pesky, late afternoon showers forced the cancellation of the races at Eagle River Speedway Tuesday.
As this was the final scheduled night of points racing at the Northwoods oval, track champions have been decided in all of the respective divisions.
Ontonagon, Michigan’s Dave Dishaw held a 14 point edge over Mass City, Michigan’s Kory Joliff to capture his second straight, B modified title.
In the USRA late model division, hometown driver Jason Zdroik secured the division crown. Zdroik beat out Jim Falls’ Jason McFadden 1015 to 964 in the final points.
Wisconsin’s winningest IMCA stock car driver, “Hot Rod” Snellenberger of Pulaski, made the six hour round trip on Tuesday nights pay off, with another division title. Snellenberger beat out Wausau’s Mitch Stankowski in the final points with a 30 point margin.
In the street stock division, it was Rhinelander’s Hope Eisel beating out her dad Jason Eisel by a mere five markers to secure her first division title here.
Stacy, Minnesota’s Tyler Pelofske made his long tow out-of-state pay off with a 600 micro sprint track championship by 18 points over Dorchester’s Oakley Schwantes. Phillips’ Devin Fries nabbed the pure stock division crown by a 21 point lead over Prentice’s Reginald Felzkowski.
Twin Lakes, Michigan’s Carter Aho won by an eight point margin over Tomahawk’s Blake Wilke to secure the 300 micro sprint title.
The final night of racing at Eagle River Speedway in 2026 will be held on Saturday, September 5. A practice session is slated for Friday night.
The raindate for this season-ending race will be Sunday, September 6 if needed. Divisions that will take part will be USRA late models, B modifieds, IMCA stock cars, street stocks, pure stocks, 300 and 600 micro sprints and the Dairyland Vintage racers.
