DISHAW DASHES TO EAGLE RIVER SPEEDWAY B MOD WIN

(EAGLE RIVER, WI) AUG. 18 – Defending track champion Dave Dishaw passed hometown driver Ryan Brown for the lead with two laps to go and went on to capture his second B mod feature win of the year at Eagle River Speedway Tuesday.

Dishaw started seventh in the 20 lap contest, and hovered around the 3rd position for much of the race, scrapping with Kory Jolilff. Early race leader Brown had built up a sizable cushion. However, that cushion was wiped out with a caution flag with eight laps remaining. Dishaw, using the high groove, motored around Brown on lap 18 and cruised to victory. Brown took second place, followed by Joliff, Frank Gasperini and Tad Schoonover.

Hometown driver Jeff Thomas took the lead on lap three and held that spot and went on to win the USRA late model feature. The victory was his second here of the season.

Conover’s Chad Lederer outraced fellow front row starter Todd Gorny into the lead at the drop of the green of the 20 lap feature. Thomas, who started fourth, rode the high line and stormed into second on the second circuit, and wrestled the top spot away on the following lap.
Thomas stretched his margin to nearly a full straightaway lead on his way to victory. Defending track champion Lucas Peterson sliced his way through the pack from eighth to take second. Jason Zdroik, Lederer and Zack Friske rounded out the top five finishers.

Pulaski’s Rod Snellenberger passed John Heinz of Green Bay for the lead and cruised to his fifth IMCA stock car victory here of the season. The race went caution free.

Hometown driver Trentin Bell posted his best performance of the year, placing second. Mitch Stankowski, Jason Zdroik and Jordan Kurtti rounded out the top five finishers.

Three Lakes’ Nick Allard won his 2nd street stock feature of the year Aug. 18 at Eagle River Speedway. (Castle Creations Media)

Three Lakes’ Nick Allard grabbed the lead on lap ten and went on to collect his second, street stock feature win of the year here. Trailing at the checkers were Ben Pitlik, Jeremy Joslin, Hope Eisel and Madisyn Dieringer.

Phillips’ Devin Fries swept action in the pure stock division, winning his sixth feature flag here of the year.

Bark River, Michigan’s Braxton Lundquist went wire-to-wire, leading every lap en route to winning the caution free, 15 lap 600 micro sprint feature.

Tomahawk’s Blake Wilke grabbed the lead on lap two, and cruised to his second 300 micro sprint feature win of the year.

Next Tuesday, August 25 the speedway will host championship night. The final points night of racing will take place. In addition, the popular “On Track Autograph” session will take place prior to racing. Racing gets underway at 7 p.m. For more information check out the track’s Facebook page.
