DIVERSE FIELD REPRESENTING SIX STATES AND CANADA SET FOR EAGLE RIVER SPEEDWAY’S $10,250 RUMBLE AT THE RIVER AUGUST 9-11
(Nearly 50 pre-registered drivers set for track’s biggest paying race in track history)
(Eagle River, WI) – A pre-registered field of nearly 50 drivers, representing six states and Canada and a trio of sanctioning bodies are ready to rock for the first ever “Rumble At The River” presented by Dalbeck Sales LLC and Dustin White Construction at Eagle River Speedway August 10 and 11.
A $10,250 top prize awaits the winner of the B modified feature at the popular Northwoods, third-mile, clay oval. Drivers who race under the WISSOTA, IMCA and USRA banners will all attempt to crack the 24 car starting field.
The diverse field of drivers includes 25 drivers who will battle with an IMCA-legal car; 16 WISSOTA-legal cars along with eight drivers following the USRA rulebook. All drivers must race on the G-60 tire, either a Hoosier or an American Racer.
Wisconsin leads the way in entrants with 30 pre-registered drivers. Michigan sits second with eight drivers; Minnesota has four, Iowa three, and Nebraska and Arizona each have one driver registered. Canada also has one entrant. Track officials are confident the actual number of drivers that show up to race will likely be much higher, as many teams will elect to show up without pre-entering.
Plans call for an open test-and-tune session on Sunday, August 9 begining at 6 p.m. Pre-tech will also take place for teams who show up Sunday. The Sunday practice is free for fans to attend. Racing gets underway at 6:30 p.m. on both Monday and Tuesday nights. The raindate, if needed, will be Wednesday, August 12.
Heat races and a pair of qualifying features are slated to be run on Monday, August 10. The top five finishers in each A main will be locked into the $10k show to be run Tuesday, August 11. IMCA stock cars will also run a full show on Monday, employing a draw-redraw format. State and national points will be doled out.
On Tuesday, the IMCA stock cars will run another full show, with weekly points also being doled out. Unified dirt street stocks and 300 micro sprints will also be part of the show. Another set of qualifying heats will take place for B mods, with last chance races also on tap.
joeverdegan.com will award a $100 long haul award on Tuesday to the B mod driver who tows the furthest to compete.
The 50-lap feature will start 24 cars, and will pay $500-to-start. Fans and drivers can learn more about this race by checking the Eagle River Speedway Facebook page.
