EAGLE RIVER’S FIVE-FIGURE PAYDAY AUG. 10-11, TERRY VAN ROY MEMORIAL JULY 31 & MORE
Posted on: Monday July 27, 2026
It’s hard to believe we are almost entering the month of August in the year 2026.
It may sound cliche’, but boy does the time sure fly. I personally took a rare weekend off from the mic at any race tracks, and it very much recharged my batteries, and we’re ready for another busy week and month of racing as we are officially now into the “Dog Daze” of summer.
You know – that time of year when drivers get tired. Pit crew members get tired. Fans get tired. Heck, even track employees/officials get tired. We’ve all been there before. You’ve just got to keep plugging along, and that’s exactly what we’ll do. Here’s a look ahead to what’s coming up in the next week or two, or three!
EAGLE RIVER SPEEDWAY – A $1,000-to-win top prize is on the line for sportmods/B modifieds at Eagle River Speedway Tuesday, July 28. The event, dubbed “REV IT UP” as a “prelude” of sorts to the $10,250-to-win “Rumble At The River” August 10-11 at the speedway. A kid’s coin and candy drop will take place. A full program of racing is on tap, with action getting underway at 7 p.m.
Sportmod/B mod drivers are urged to get their pre-registrations for the big show before July 30. After that, the $150 pre-entry jumps up to $200. This is the biggest paying event in the track’s history. A test-and-tune and pre-tech day is scheduled for Sunday, August 9. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Eagle River Speedway is most definitely a “bucket list” track. If you’ve never been there before, you should consider paying a visit one of these Tuesday nights.
141 SPEEDWAY – It will be Everbreeze Property Maintenance LLC night at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek Saturday, August 1. “The Flyin’ Mayan” Jamison MacDonald of Little Suamico will have his number 59 IMCA stock car on display behind the grandstand prior to racing. The hammer drops at 6 p.m.
OUTAGAMIE SPEEDWAY – The IMCA sport compact division will scrap for a $500 top prize at Outagamie Speedway in Seymour Friday, July 31.A full show of IMCA modifieds, stock cars, northern sportmods and Unified street stocks will also be in action. The first green flag is scheduled to fly at 6:30 p.m. at the Outagamie County Fairgrounds in Seymour.

THE HILL RACEWAY – Fast & Fun Toy And Hobby night is set for The Hill Raceway in Sturgeon Bay Saturday, August 1. The sportmod class will scrap for their Busch Shootout. Stock cars, unified street stocks and 4 cylinders will also compete. Action gets underway at 6 p.m. at John Miles Park
GRAVITY PARK USA – The annual Terry Van Roy Memorial race for grand nationals will take place at Gravity Park USA in Chilton Friday, July 31. An added class at the quarter-mile, clay oval on this night will be the Crown Vic division. The action kicks off at 7 p.m. in Chilton.
OTHER WEEKEND ACTION – Shawano Speedway will host it’s Halloween night show presented by Luisier Drilling and Water Systems Saturday, August 1. IMCA northern sportmods will battle for a $1,000 top prize. Action gets underway at 6:30 p.m. Meanwhile, Luxy Raceway will run it’s show on Friday, July 31 with a 7 p.m. start time at the Kewaunee County Fairgrounds. IRA Outlaw sprint cars will swing into to Plymouth Dirt Track Saturday, August 1.
KARTING KORNER – Flat track motorcycles will take center stage at GSR Kartway in Clintonville August 1 and 2. The event, dubbed the Leland Johnson Classic AMA D 16 Flat Track series, will get underway at 6 p.m. Saturday night, and at noon on Sunday. Wednesday night action will also take place on July 29 with Brad Helser Aerial Applications night. Premier Community Bank will sponsor a kid’s coin drop. Karting and lawn mower races are set to get underway Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Danielson Racing will sponsor bike giveaway night at Little Buckaroo Jr. Motorsports Park on Sunday, August 3. Action in the karting program at the Cecil, Wisconsin oval is set to commence at 2 p.m.
PAVEMENT PONDERINGS – Terry Van Roy Memorial night will take place at Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna July 30 for the track’s “Thursday Night Thunder” show. The WIR 1/4 mile late models will join the track’s regular divisions. The hammer drops at 6:30 p.m. The next TUNDRA super late model series race is slated for October 3 for the Fall Shootout at Marshfield Motor Speedway. Dalton Zehr captured his second Cleaver Classic at Golden Sands Speedway in Plover over the weekend.
The first ever UARA Nationals Carbliss 125 is set for GSS Saturday, August 1. A $10,000 top prize is on the line. According to a promotional poster for the event, former NASCAR truck champion Ty Majeski is among the expected entries. The super late model event, which also pays $1,000-to-start, will also host the Wisconsin sport trucks and vintage racers at the high-banked, third-mile, paved oval.
Remember to support your local race track IN PERSON whenever possible! Online streaming is o.k., but NOTHING beats BEING THERE! Have a great week!
