GREG “DOOGIE” HAUSER – RETIRED SUPER STOCKER TEAMS WITH VANDER LOOP BROS.

Greg “Doogie” Hauser (left) poses with Brady Vander Loop with Hauser’s super stock “wagon” at Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna.
Greg “Doogie” Hauser is perfectly content with “passing the torch” to the younger generation of racers.
The Wrightstown racer/car owner, a recent inductee into the Wisconsin International Raceway/Fox River Racing Club’s ‘Circle Of Fame,’ has essentially ‘handed the keys’ over to a pair of younger racers to wheel his 20-year-old wagon that competes in the “Thursday Night Thunder” super stock wars on WIR’s paved quarter-mile, oval.
Cody and Brady Vander Loop, both of Freedom, are splitting seat time in Hauser’s wagon in ’26. Hauser is enjoying his role as car owner versus that of a driver. “I started racing this car back in 1997,” Hauser explained. “This is our 20th season running this car.”
Hauser has won track titles as a driver and a car owner with ‘the wagon.’ The list of driver who’ve won titles in that car include Hauser, who won both solo and serving as a ‘team driver’ with Andy Casavante and Wayne Sonkowski. Dylan Wenzel has also raced Hauser’s wagon to championships; both FRRC crowns and Red, White & Blue titles as well.

Hauser’s wagon has been a staple in WIR’s super stock class for more than 20 years.
Cody Vander Loop is 21, while Brady Vander Loop just turned 16. “The car itself is older than the kid driving it when Brady is behind the wheel,” Hauser joked.
So how did Hauser ever connect with the younger Vander Loops? It all came through a life long friend and former racer, Gary Roehborn. “Gary asked me one day ‘why don’t you give the Vander Loop kid a chance,” Hauser recalled. “That was three and a half years ago. Gary sugggested I reach out to them to see if they had any interest. I didn’t even know who Cody was at the time.”
Cody, who enjoyed a ton of success wheeling a much smaller Wisconsin sport truck, hopped in the wagon and took some practice laps on WIR’s quarter-mile.
Cody turned in laps at race speed right out of the box. “That was around mid-season in 2021 in late June,” Hauser recalled. “But, Cody ran too many races, so he could not run for the rookie-of-the-year honors that year.”
Brady, 16, entered the picture in May, 2026. “I started racing the sport trucks when I was 13,” Brady explained. “I practiced in the wagon on the quarter-mile before the season started. Compared to the truck, it’s obviously much different. But, that quarter-mile still has the same rough spots on it. So that part I was familar with I guess.”
For Brady, there are a handful of similarities when it comes to battling on WIR’s quarter-mile oval whether it’s a super stock or a much smaller, sport truck with virtually no suspension underneath it. “The strategy is the same when it comes to setting up another driver to pass,” Brady said. “The wagon is a lot wider and longer than a truck, though. So, we have to take that into consideration.”
The Vander Loop racing family is a big one. Brady and Cody have another brother, Kasey, who also competes in a sport truck. Cody, Kasey & Brady’s cousins also both race: “The Red Rocket” J.J. Vander Loop and “The Joker” Jerry Vander Loop. “We have a Midwest truck that I may compete in down the road,” Brady said. “We’ll see where things take us. I’m just trying to get better in whatever I am racing. That includes the wagon in the super stocks.”

Hauser’s rear spoiler has always sported clever sayings.
According to Hauser, he lets the Vander Loop brothers decide who races the wagon, and when. “I left it up to those two,” Hauser admitted.
“Brady runs (the wagon) more on Thursdays. Cody has his super late model, and will run the wagon during the Red, White and Blue and the Stan (Gracyalny) The Man race, too.”
As for Hauser himself, he recently became the youngest ever driver to be inducted into WIR’s COF at the age of 45. Hauser says he’s fully ‘retired’ as a driver. “Yeah, I’m guessing we are making Dad (Donny Hauser) proud,” Hauser confessed. “A part of me feels a bit weird about being the youngest inductee. One thing I can say, though, is I love giving other drivers a chance to compete in a race proven car that’s a winner. And the wagon is still popular with the fans, especially the kids. It’s still a big hit.”
Hauser’s team of marketing partners includes Tim’s Body Shop, Zenter’s Auto Service, Ken’s Sports, L & B Custom Cabinets, Rick’s Auto Glass, Wrightstown Nauti Inn, Plan B, RIver Valley Remodelers, Eric’s Enterprises LLC, The Corner Bar & Grill, Latulip Brewing, Fox River Storage, 920 Wrap & Shirts, Leitzke Construction and Marty Nussbaum Racing. His longtime partner Robin Dobberstein remains an integral part of Hauser’s racing operation.
