DISHAW SHADES WHITE, COPS EAGLE RIVER SPEEDWAY B MOD MAIN
(EAGLE RIVER, WI) June 16 – Ontonagon, Michigan’s Dave Dishaw jumped into the lead at the start and kept hometown driver Dustin White at bay to win a caution-free, B mod feature at Eagle River Speedway Tuesday.
Dishaw stormed into the lead at the drop of the green and quickly put enough distance between himself and the balance of the field.
For a bulk of the contest, a three-car battle for second took place with White, Kory Joliff and George Dalbeck. The trio traded paint for several circuits, before White checked out and began to reel in Dishaw.
Last week, Dishaw was snakebit, as he got bottled up with a slower car while leading. The veteran racer didn’t let that happen this week, as Dishaw sifted through lapped traffic with six laps remaining. White was able to close the gap but settled for second at the pay window. Joliff, Dalbeck and Ryan Brown took third through fifth, respectively. Parity remains in the B mods, as Dishaw was the third different winner here this year.
Defending track champion Lucas Peterson of Stockholm jumped into the lead on the first lap and was never headed as he emerged triumphant in the USRA late model feature. Jason McFadden, Jason Zdroik, Dan Zelten and Mike Kirtland rounded out the top five finishers.
Earlier in the night, White led every lap, and dodged a number of caution periods to win the IMCA stock car feature. Former track champion Rod Snellenberger took runnerup honors, followed by Zdroik, Mitch Stankowski and Wyler Haynes. White was the third winner in as many weeks in the class dubbed “too-tough-to-tame.”
The “Mayor of Sugar Camp” Jason Eisel grabbed the lead on lap five, and fought through lapped traffic during the second half of the contest to win the street stock feature. The victory was the second of the year here for the defending division champion. Josh Joslin placed second, followed by Nick Allard, Hope Eisel and Jeremy Joslin.
Phillips’ Devin Fries captured the pure stock feature.
The start of the pure stock feature was red flagged when the cars of Rylee Glembin and Timmy Kin made contact coming out of turn two. The contact sent Kin into the wall, where he took out a track billboard and rolled his mount, landing back on all four wheels. Both drivers were unhurt.
Stacy, Minnesota’s Tyler Pelofske sweated out three cautions and went wire-to-wire, leading all 15 laps en route to victory in the 600 micro sprint feature.

Hometown driver Myia Ewert earned a clean sweep in the 300 micro sprint semi-pro class. (Castle Creations)
Hometown racer Myia Ewert swept action in the semi-pro 300 micro sprints, winning both the heat and feature. Wausau’s Bentley Seliger copped the pro 300 micro sprint main.
The show got off to a late start, as rain showers pelted the speedway between 5 and 6 p.m. Track crews did an admirable job getting the wet, clay oval into shape, and the program went on, despite Mother Nature’s best efforts to thwart that.
Racing resumes Tuesday, June 23 at 7:00. The annual bike giveaway night will take place. Dozens of bikes will be given away to kids courtesy of local businesses and individuals. For more information check out the track’s Facebook page.
