Armitage, Parker, Genett, and Everard Claim Checkers by Joe Orsini

(Seymour, WI) June 12 – 102 cars and stars filled the pits for this week’s edition of Friday Night Thunder.  The Bumper to Bumper IRA 410 Sprint Cars headlined the night and hoped to break the streak of three consecutive years of rain cancelled events.

The Bumper to Bumper IRA Sprint Cars took to the track for their feature event and Will Armitage grabbed the lead at the drop of the green.  Paul Nienhiser slid up to second and mounted a mid race charge to the rear tires of the leader but faded.  Scotty Thiel made a last lap pass to grab second away from Nienhiser as Armitage locked up the win.  Travis Arenz and Jordan Goldesberry completed the top five.  A full race recap can be found at https://www.irasprints.com/

The Monroe Truck Equipment IMCA Stock Car A-main event kicked off with Presley Harrington shooting into the lead on the first lap.  Harrington survived multiple cautions and looked to have successfully calmed the class known for being too tough to tame.  While Harrington kept trying to open a gap on the field between yellow flags Chase Parker had worked into the runner up spot and was primed to have to settle for second.  Heartbreak struck Harrington on the white flag lap as his steel stallion slowed due to a flat left rear and allowed Parker to snatch the victory.  Kegan Van Ooyen came home second, Brett Wenzel was third, Josh Mroczkowski  fourth, and Scott Besaw fifth.  Harrington’s misfortune led to Parker capturing the $1200 top prize for the night courtesy of an anonymous donor.

The Vettings Customs Rigs and Rides Unified Dirt Street Stock took to the track set to battle for a $1000 top prize courtesy of the same anonymous donor.  With a bigger payday on the line Trey Van Straten shot to the front and paced the early laps until surrendering the lead to Kyle Genett on lap three.  Genett had to hold off the pack with a restart just past the half way mark with seven laps to go to lock up the big payday.  Van Straten settled for second, Paul Diefenthaler third, Logan Schmeck capped a solid night with a fourth place finish and Mitch Meyerhofer rounded out the top five.

The Midwest Equipment and Dock Services IMCA Sport Compact feature event kicked off with Brett Deprez leading the opening lap but his time at the front was short lived as TJ Everard snuck into the top spot on the second lap.  Kyle Jorgenson was able to sneak by Deprez into second on lap six.  Logan Boehnlein found the high side to his liking as he used the momentum to shoot past Deprez into third on lap twelve and let it all hang out on the topside to grab second from Jorgenson three laps later.  Jorgenson worked back into second and ran side by side with Everard as the pair battled for the lead.  Everard was able to pull away though and when the dust settled he emerged victorious.  Jake Peters made a last lap pass to finish second, Jorgenson was third, Boehnlein fourth, and Deprez fifth.

Outagamie Speedway powered by Klink Equipment & Holtger Brothers Inc will be off next week as the 50th annual Mackville Nationals will take over the weekend.  Racing will resume Friday, June 26th, with Thunder at the Fair featuring the Dirt Kings Late Model Tour.  Racing kicks off at 6:30.
