PRE-SEASON P.R. by Joe Verdegan

(APRIL, 2026 MONTHLY MOTORSPORTS MARKETING MAIL TIP)

As I pen this in late March, I keep thinking about all the cool pics of the shiny new rides everyone has prepped for the 2026 racing season. Unlike the ’70’s, ’80’s and even into the ’90’s, we often had to wait until opening night of the races to see all the new colorful paint schemes.

Social media has changed all of that (for better or for worse).

Before those cars take to the track and start to take the weekly beating of duct tape, pop rivets and wheelmarks (aka donuts) on the doors, make darn sure you are taking enough pics of your racer and going ABOVE and BEYOND for your marketing partners.

For us older folks, Facebook seems to remain a popular vehicle for teams to showcase their marketing partners. Show off your car or truck. Blast pics of your shiny new machine at as many in person venues as possible. Car shows are awesome. Parades typically occur in the summer months. These are all great opportunities to showcase your sponsors.

Instagram, Snapchat and even X (formerly known as Twitter) are great for still pics. If you are adept at crafting brief videos, then you should have a Tic Toc account. (Karly Stadler does an admirable job using Tic Toc). Even this old codger has all of these social media platforms, and I do use them for both business and personal use.

I can’t stress this enough. If you’re NOT well-versed in things like spelling and grammar, find someone who is. That person or persons can assist you in putting together a colorful, eye-catching sponsorship deck.

We do assist race teams with putting together sponsorship decks, which are a critical tool in the great money hunt. Simply drop me an email at jverdegan2@gmail.com and let’s get those conversations started.
