CLAYTON NABS 1ST MSA SPRINT WIN AT OUTAGAMIE (submitted by Joe Orsini)

(SEYMOUR, WI) Sept. 6 – 114 cars filed into the pits Saturday night at Outagamie Speedway.  21 cars and stars from the MSA 360 Sprint Car series signed in to put on a show at the speedway for the first time since 2021.  They were joined by the Midwest Dirt Legends Series and the Dairyland Vintage Dirt series as guest divisions.

The MSA 360 Sprint Cars started the night off with Donny Goeden setting a fast time in qualifying of 12.973 seconds around the third mile clay oval.  Tony Wondra paced the early laps of the feature but surrendered the lead on lap four as Tristan Furseth worked around on the highside on lap four.  Two laps later Chris Clayton slid by on the inside hugging the infield tractor tires and secured the top spot.  Clayton danced through lap traffic and was unchallenged over the remainder of the event and secured his first career MSA 360 Sprint Car feature win as the race went green to checkers.  Ben Schmidt’s bid for four straight feature wins came up just short as he finished second, Furseth was third, Kevin Karnitz fourth, and Wondra rounded out the top five.  A full race report can be found on the MSA Sprint Car website: https://www.msasprints.com/news-updates

The Midwest Legends Dirt Series saw Hayden Schmuhl grab the lead at the drop of the green and held the point until lap seven when Ryan Mech piloted into the top spot.  Schmuhl pressured the leader all the way until the double checkers flew.  Mech held on for the win, Schmuhl was second, Talyn Neuman third, Ryan Sullivan fourth, and Dallas Ross completed the top five.

The Monroe Truck Equipment\K&E Sales and Service IMCA Stock Car A main event kicked off with Kenny Richards rocketing to the lead on the opening lap from his pole position starting spot.  The High Side Hustler, Kyle Frederick, wasted no time putting his 50F machine to the top groove and muscled past Richards into the lead on lap four.  “Mighty” Mike Mullen worked past Frederick on the inside to capture the top spot on lap nine and went on to win his second feature in as many nights at the speedway.  Presley Harrington made a last lap pass to grab second, Frederick was third, Logan Leary also made a last lap pass of his own to take fourth, and Richards shuffled back to fifth when the dust settled.

Luck of the draw favored Robert Wittkopf as his redraw pill put him starting on the pole position for the Trailer Express IMCA Northern Sport Mod feature event.  Wittkopf took full advantage of that luck to shoot to the lead as the green flag waved.  Wittkopf never looked back and led every lap of the feature to visit victory lane.  Jake Carpenter finished second, Brady Harshbarger third, Shane Bahr fourth, and Mitchell Fairbank closed out the top five.

Green Bay’s T.J. Everard topped the IMCA sport compact field at Outagamie Speedway in Seymour Sept. 6 by winning the division’s feature. (danlewisphoto.net)

The Midwest Equipment Dock and Lift Service IMCA Sport Compact feature had Bo White grab the opening lap lead from his outside front row starting spot.  White’s time out front lasted four laps before he surrendered the lead to Shaun Bangart on lap five.  Meanwhile TJ Everard managed to slide into the runner up spot on lap seven and set his 88 machine to pressuring Bangert.  At the halfway mark Bangart continued to lead Everard with Logan Boehnlein in third, Calvin Stueck fourth, and White dropping to fifth.  Everard moved to the high side and took the lead on lap 15 and hung on to finish at the front of the pack, Boehnlein secured second in the closing laps, Bangart settled for third, Jesse Schulte was fourth, and Stueck came home fifth.

The Dairyland Vintage Dirt Series provided old school racing action with Dan Schultz grabbing the early lead of the 15 lap feature.  Lap nine saw Tim Lind power by on the outside into the lead.  Lind held on to lock up the feature win, Matt Eder was second, Schultz third, Brian “Butcher” Title was fourth, and Casey Krueger fifth.

Outagamie Speedway powered by Klink Equipment & Elite Coatings is back in action next Friday night, September 12th, with night one of the 2025 Fall Brawl.  The Midwest Legends Dirt Series will be back along with the Late Models, Modifieds, Stock Cars, Sport Mods, Street Stocks, and Sport Compacts.  There will be a DJ in the pits after the completion of features and there will also be a Halloween Costume contest.  Gates open at 4:30 with racing at 6:30
