141 CLASH WEEK, SHAWANO HOF, WIR RED RACE & MORE

We are without question, getting into the true “Meat-And-Potatoes” of the local and regional racing season. There’s a ton of racing action on tap, so let’s get right to it!

SHAWANO HOF – The 2025 Hall of Fame class was inducted into Shawano Speedway last Saturday. Former drivers Jeff Teske, Joe Haferkorn and longtime track workers John and Soon Stezenski were inducted during a trackside ceremony.

IT’S CLASH WEEK – The 17th annual Clash @ The Creek event takes place this week June 9 thru 11 at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek. A $10,000 top prize awaits the winner of the IMCA modified feature on Wednesday night. In addition to the big show on Wednesday, the IMCA stock cars and northern sportmods will also scrap for a $1,000 top prize. Racing gets underway at 6:30 both Tuesday and Wednesday. A practice session is set for Monday, June 9. There will be no racing at 141 on Saturday, June 14.

RACE INTO READING – Several race cars will be on display at The Gnoshery at the Sturgeon Bay Farmer’s Market beginning at 8 a.m. The event runs until noon. That event will precede the Therma Tron-X night of racing at The Hill Raceway in Sturgeon Bay. Kid’s Big Wheel races will be an added attraction. $50 cash bonuses will be doled out to all heat winners. The action gets underway at John Miles Park at 6 p.m.

 

EAGLE RIVER SPEEDWAY– The 1st Tuesday night race of the year at Eagle River Speedway kicks off June 10. The third-mile, clay oval hosts USRA late models, IMCA stock cars, B mods, Unified dirt street stocks, pure stocks, 600 and 300 micro sprints weekly. The hammer drops at 7 p.m. Check the track’s Facebook page for raceday, weather-related information.

SEYMOUR IS OFF FRIDAY – A reminder there is NO racing at Outagamie Speedway in Seymour Friday, June 13 due to the Mackville Tractor Pulls taking place at the Outagamie County Fairgrounds. Racing will resume Friday, June 20 with the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw sprint car series at the third-mile, clay oval.

LATE MODELS BACK – Late models are scheduled to make their return to Shawano Speedway Saturday, June 14. The track’s other regular divisions will also be in action, with racing getting underway at 6:30 p.m.

PAVEMENT PONDERINGS – The 54th running of the “Red Race” – the first leg of the Red, White & Blue state championship series kicks off Thursday, June 12 at Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna. The hammer drops at 6:30 p.m.

TUNDRA super late models are slated to compete Saturday, June 14 at Marshfield Motor Speedway at the annual Bev Aschenbrenner Memorial race. Joining the TUNDRA super lates are the Upper Midwest Vintage Legends Series, Legends, Xtreme 4’s and Bandits. Qualifying is set for 6 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m.

ASA DOUBLEHEADER – The ASA Stars National Tour makes it’s doubleheader swing into Wisconsin this weekend. The first event will take place Friday, June 13 at Madison International Speedway (MIS) for the El Bandido Yankee Tequila Capital 250. The series then swings over the the World’s Fastest quarter-mile at Slinger Super Speedway Sunday, June 15. For more information you can check out starsnationaltour.com.

Time of limited this week, so we’ll keep it brief for this Monday column. Whatever you do, make sure to get out and support your local short track IN PERSON this summer whenever possible.
