HITCHING YOUR MARKETING WAGON UP TO A WINNER by Joe Verdegan

(NOVEMBER, 2024 MONTHLY MOTORSPORTS MARKETING MAIL TIP)

What key factors come into play when decision makers choose who to spend their hard earned dollars with?

Any successful business person will choose to hitch their marketing ‘wagon’ to a race team or driver who is popular, well known and can reach thousands of potential customers. I’ve got an example for you.

Andrew Roever is the Owner/Sole Proprietor of Hobbytown – a successful hobby store located in Green Bay.

Hobbytown has been a strong supporter of local and regional motorsports teams and series. One of those drivers they support is veteran Brad “JJ” Mueller of Random Lake. Mueller is a well known, very popular driver with thousands of friends. “When people ask about sponsorship, teaming up with someone like Brad is an easy one,” Roever said.

Andrew recently pointed to a recent post Roever put on Facebook regarding an RC car decked out in Mueller’s colors he sports on his Midwest Truck series truck that reached close to 5,000 people in just 2.5 hours. “It’s not easy to get 7,000 friends like Brad has, but having a network on FB and Instagram it’s important to help those sponsors sell their product,” Roever said. “Teams really need to share the posts and build that network. It’s critical. The more views you can show a sponsor, the better.”

Roever added: “Rarely do I see drivers posting their sponsor stuff. Brad is one of the best at it, and also Andy Monday.”

We do assist race teams with putting together sponsorship decks which are a critical tool in the great money hunt. Simply drop me an email at jverdegan2@gmail.com and let’s get those conversations started.
