FIGURING OUT THOSE TANGIBLE ASSETS by Joe Verdegan

(SEPTEMBER, 2024 MONTHLY MOTORSPORTS MARKETING MAIL TIP)

When it comes to motorsports marketing, crafting sponsorship decks and the great money hunt in general we often preach that the whole gig involves A LOT more than simply slapping stickers on your race car or truck.

With that being said, when you are crafting your sponsorship deck it never hurts to think of the other creative ways to serve up additional signage and exposure opportunities. And with our sport there are plenty of them.

Like it or not, online streaming is here to stay with short track racing. There are multiple companies that are doing this. (We could debate the value of these and whether or not this is good or bad for the sport or somewhere in between).

But at any rate having this online streaming at your track or series you compete at is another one of those ‘pieces of the puzzle’ you can SELL for additional exposure. I’ve seen some pretty fancy drivers suits with one or multiple companies logos embroidered. That too, is another tangible. So are the autographed Hero Cards. Your team Facebook page or website is another one. You get the drift here.

I’ve seen some racers whose pit crew members who dress like absolute slobs and yet I’ve seen others decked out in professional looking uniforms or polo shirts. It’s not rocket science to figure out what the best avenue is there. Those customized crew shirts will look snazzy and project a positive image for your racing operation. It’s a no brainer.

When you are putting these things together it bolsters your case the more ‘tools’ you have in your marketing ‘toolbox’ per se. And they also serve as bargaining tools when it comes to sealing the deal.

We do assist race teams with putting together sponsorship decks which are a critical tool in the great money hunt. Simply drop me an email at jverdegan2@gmail.com and let’s get those conversations started.
