NORWAY SPEEDWAY HALL OF FAME TO HONOR 2024 INDUCTEES FRIDAY, JUNE 21

(Norway, MI) – The Norway Speedway Hall of Fame committee has announced it will induct it’s five newest, class of 2024 members on Friday night, June 21 at Norway Speedway.

The 2024 inductees are:

Troy Nelson, Antigo, WI – Nelson was often a ‘hired gun’ of sorts for Coleman Racing over the years. Nelson scored three straight Coca Cola late model crowns at Norway from 2008-2010. Nelson ran on occasion up until four or five years ago.

Mark Schroeder, Green Bay, WI – The native from Titletown was a huge Alan Kulwicki fan hence, Schroeder’s familiar number 7. A former champion at Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna as well, Schroeder netted the Norway Speedway Coca Cola late model track championship in 2000. The Green Bay Ace was a regular competitor on and off at Norway’s third-mile, paved oval for many seasons. Schroeder last raced on occasion a few seasons ago on a part time basis.

Greg Pollard, Norway, MI – A driver who remains synonymous with the track’s popular Slammer division which competed at the track from 1991 to 2010. During that time period Pollard collected a trio of division crowns in 1994, 1996 and 1997. Pollard was also a fan favorite as his racer was known as the “Cool Cat” car with a mounted bobcat perched on the roof of his racer.

Mark Jenshak, Gladstone, MI – The Gladstone driver was a mainstay in the track’s Auto Value super stock division throughout the ’00’s and ’10’s. Jenshak scored three straight division titles from 2010-2012.

Kathy Branz, Norway, MI – Kathy served as the treasurer of the Dickinson County Racing Association (DCRA) when the track was converted to pavement in 1979. In addition Branz served as chief scorer at the track for no less than 20 years. That in an era well before electronic transponder scoring. Everything was hand scored back in the day. Branz scored at Norway up until the mid 1990’s. She said one of the biggest advantages to scoring the races was there was ‘no more dust’ to deal with after the track had been paved.

The five inductees will be ushered in at a ceremony during intermission. The Hall of Famers will be available for an autograph signing prior to the racing action, which gets underway at 7 p.m. You can follow the Norway Speedway Hall of Fame Facebook page for further details. The Norway Speedway Hall of Fame is displayed within the Thirsty Whale Bar and Grill in Norway.
