SNAGGING YOUR PIECE OF THE PIE by Joe Verdegan

(October, 2023 Monthly Marketing Mail Tip)

According to the 2023 Motorsports Global Strategic Business Report, in 2022, the motorsports industry was valued at $5.8 billion. It’s a massive global market that continues to flourish. And that leads to ample sponsorship requests. (sponsorshipcollective.com)

A sponsorship deck is not a golden ticket into the door of sponsorship. However, the sponsorship deck is a tool that you use – and it’s a critical one.

The scary thing though is that the art of chasing those sponsorship, marketing dollars is the furthest thing from an exact science. But putting together a brief, colorful eye-catching deck can only improve your odds of landing something.

So, what should be in the sponsorship deck?

Enough high resolution, color photos.

A team logo.

Demographics. (A breakdown of what tracks/series you plan on competing at. Any track or series promoter worth their salt should be able to provide you some real attendance numbers.)

A brief rundown of your career accomplishments. (Some caution here though – way too many drivers feel the need to put down how many top fives and top tens they have. Truth is most decision makers don’t care much about that stuff.)

Your plans for the upcoming season.

What negotiable options you are offering for your program.

Didn’t win a lot of races? No worries! Focus more on the plan itself.

If you are NOT well versed in spelling and grammar, then hire someone (like me) or have someone you trust put it together for you.

We can help you put your sponsorship deck together. Once again, we have partnered with Bryan “Woody” Wodack of Woody’s Signs in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin to design the cover pages. If you’re interested in our services simply shoot me an email @ jverdegan2@gmail.com and we’ll be happy to discuss sponsorship with you!
