SHAWANO, WI, Aug. 21 – Chick Stolarick breezed to an easy victory in the 20-lap late model feature Saturday night to claim his first victory at the Shawano Speedway.
Stolarick took the lead on the main on lap two when he powered by early leader Roger Van Roy. Stolarick built up a comfortable margin over the rest of the field until a caution on lap eight bunched up the pack.
When the race resumed, Stolarick again took the lead with M.J. McBride and Terry Anvelink fighting for second. Stolarick managed to pull away from McBride and Anvelink to score an easy victory. McBride edged Anvelink at the finish to take second while Van Roy and Dave Schneider rounded out the top five.
Art Siefert clinched the hobby stock championship by taking the 15-lap feature. Chad Paul led the first eight laps of the main before Siefert took command of the race on circuit nine. Siefert held a three-car-length margin to finish for the victory. Doug Blashe took second ahead of Chuck Grall, Larry Faucher and Dave Laurent.
