(EAGLE RIVER, WI) – It will be the Sweetwater ERS late models turn to shine at Eagle River Speedway Saturday, September 3 with a $1,500 prize on the line during the track’s season ending Northwoods Shootout presented by Hartman Well Drilling and Lampert’s Lumber.

The third-mile, clay oval has hosted the economical “crate” or USRA-type late models for three years now and this event will be the first where the division’s participants will run for a boosted payout. “We’ve been looking for awhile to try and draw some of these type of cars from western Wisconsin over here for a special,” said track promoter Pat Zdroik. “With our Saturday night special, the chances are good we can lure some of those teams over here.”

While the track doesn’t follow any specific sanctioning bodies rules the ERS late model class does follow the same economical rules package as the USRA sanctioned late models that are growing in popularity in western Wisconsin and Minnesota.

This non-points night of racing will feature all of the track’s weekly divisions including Chef Rene B Modifieds, Coffen Construction stock cars, Eagle River Dock & Lift street stocks, JD Paintball & Archery 600 micro sprints, Halsey Fab/Dan’s Service 300 micro sprints, pure stocks and for the first time ever in track history the grand national division which competes at eastern Wisconsin ovals.

The track will also utilize the new pit area adjacent to corners three and four which will provide more than double the amount of pit stalls which are available in the current pit area off of corner number one.

All classes will employ a draw/redraw format. The track utilizes the MyRacePass app and drivers will be able to pre-register for this event on the popular racing app.

The draw cutoff for drivers is 5:30 p.m. with the first green flag flying at 6:00 p.m. The raindate for this event will be

Sunday, September 4 if needed. Same start times apply.

Fans and drivers are encouraged to check the track’s Facebook page as well as the track’s website eagleriverspeedway.com. Drivers with questions can call (715) 891 1870.
