FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

12-YEAR-OLD HAESE, 66-YEAR-OLD ZEITLER COP LUXEMBURG WINS

(LUXEMBURG, WI) JULY 18 – A pair of drivers three generations apart were among the feature winners who wound up in victory lane at Luxy Raceway July 18.

Longtime hometown veteran and track Hall-of-Famer Dave “Zeke” Zeitler, 66-years-young, captured his first feature flag of 2025 at his home track in the IMCA modified division. Zeitler won his first race car in the mid-1970’s by winning a card game.

On the flipside, third-generation racer Alex Haese, just 12-years-old, stormed through the street stock feature field and went on to win with a 30-year-old race car. Other feature winners on the night included Denmark’s Cole Czarneski (IMCA stock car), Appleton’s Cory Kemkes (IMCA northern sportmod) and Chilton’s Bennett Glidden (IMCA sport compact).

Zeitler charged into the lead from his pole position at the drop of the green in the 20 lap IMCA modified feature. The veteran pilot maintained the top spot through a bevy of caution periods on the third-mile, clay oval.  On each ensuing restart, Green Bay veteran R.M. Van Pay inched closer to Zeitler, closing to within a two car lengths towards the end. However, Zeitler maintained the top spot and held for the win – his first feature flag here of the ’25 campaign. Zeitler earned a sweep of the night with his heat win earlier in the night.

Van Pay settled for second, followed by Brillion’s Travis Hansen, Tigerton’s Wyatt Block and Algoma’s Todd “Felix” Dart.

In the IMCA stock car main, Czarneski bolted into the lead on a lap one restart and was never headed the rest of the way. Van Pay placed second just like he did in the modified main event. Kewaunee’s Grant Augustian snagged the final podium finish taking third. Like Zeitler, Czarneski earned a sweep of the night with a heat win to boot.

Haese started eighth in the Unified Dirt street stock feature, and slowly sliced his way through the pack, making his way up to 2nd by lap eight.

The teen racer grabbed the lead one circuit later using the high groove, and cruised to his first career feature flag.

Appleton’s Cory Kemkes grabbed his first ever feature win here in the IMCA northern sportmods. The main event went caution free.

Chilton’s Bennett Glidden earned a sweep of action in the IMCA sport compacts, winning both the heat and feature.

Weekly racing resumes next Friday, July 25 with racing starting at 7 p.m.
